With IBKR this is the "best way" to trade EUREX, but it's really slow :(
Placing order in Sierra, going by API to IBKR takes "ages" comparing to trading directly in Sierra.

That's why I was patiently waiting for Teton on EUREX, but it seems it will never happen :(

It happen many times in the past, so it will be same story in the future.

I'm really exhausted with their approach, I know they need to follow many stupid EU rules.
They will wake up, when they will realize that volume is declining and declining.

I just reverted back to version 2393 of SC and using CQG,
so I have now data for trading the DAX. Real time data only , no historical.
I should have done this earlier.

We have been told, we need to rely on Deutsche Borse to investigate and resolve. And we do not know why they are taking so long with this. We are now sending our own technician to look into this.

The problem has to be resolved in a matter of hours. It should have been resolved hours ago close to the open this morning in Europe. With everything we know, this should not be difficult to resolve.

We now have an answer as to why this is taking so long:


During the week, any and all physical works must be performed in the window of 22:30 to 01:00 CET.
Therefore, one way or another we know this will be resolved, before tomorrow morning in Europe.

We know there is a physical connectivity problem. And every point of the connection is going to be checked. Between the technical work being done by the exchange and our technician, the problem will be found and resolved.

We apologize for the delay. We are told that the technician from our side is not going to start work until 5 PM Eastern. So everyone is delaying this.

And we also provided instructions to our infrastructure provider, immediately at the start, to have the data center, check the connection to the extent they could. But we were told they just could not do that and EUREX had to initiate this. So we did everything we could on our side to get this taken care of immediately.

So that's 11 PM CET ...
Eurex will start at 8:00 PM Eastern time, or tomorrow at 1:00 AM CET.
- Question: once this is sorted out will we get data from today and up to the time when the RT feed starts? I ask because I need to have accurate floor trader's levels - previous day Open, Close, High and Low.

Yes we are going to patch the missing data. We are not sure we would get to that before the open but it will be done. Actually we can probably get started on that right now being we are close to the EUREX close.

And we are also going to be doing a full review of our entire EUREX set up to ensure better redundancy. but still this should not have taken so long, a simple connection within the building over to the EUREX T7 switches, to get this resolved. This is just very simple and straightforward. There is no reason why this should not have been resolved within an hour or two depending upon where the fault is. If the fault is somewhere within control of EUREX then it would have taken till the end of the day and we did not know this.

The connection is confirmed back and functioning properly. When we asked for an explanation, they did not provide one. They said they are going to write something up. Apparently the technician we were working with did not know what the problem was and he has to find out from the data center.

So at this point we do not have an answer.
