ok this is the 7th post and I have heard nothing since the firewall suggestion

I think someone is going to have to jump onto this computer as now I am having the current time charts leave out data. I have been sending emails to Ray and to Support hoping someone is awake at their desk and can help me. 11 hours of missing data is NOT acceptable, and it is not a firewall or my bloody isp blocking some router ports.

First of all - it does not do anyone any good to keep posting messages. We will respond to your issue. But with all these posts, it takes time for us to look and see what you have put into each of them.

What we need to see is your Message Log by following these instructions:

Open a chart for the symbol you have an issue with. Tell us that symbol of the chart.

Disconnect from the data feed with "File >> Disconnect".

Connect to the data feed with "File >> Connect to Data Feed".

After the connection and after about 10 seconds, provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions:

We will then determine what the problem is.

I just sent an email with a photo of the new chart. and the logs. I hope I did it right. I made a new chartbook for it. I am sorry I get so aggressive, and all my posts were to try and give you as much information as possible and so you would see I have done all I can to try and fix it by simple things. Thank for getting this sorted as right now I am incapable of working.

We want you to use port 80 and previously the documentation we gave you for that was out of date but here is the updated documentation:

Reload that page in your browser for the updated documentation.

Once you use port 80, just re-download the data in the chart:

Re-download all the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download". You just need to do this once per symbol and not for each chart.

ok this must be important. As you know now, many in the room have lost data. Someone in the room sent a link how to delete the charts. Just a variation of what Fleri, then Ray tried earlier to no avail. BUT in the minute or two I was logged off of data the data was LOST. So there is your issue. When I log off of SC whatever data is generated is not then saved. So my chart gaps are when I am NOT LOGGED ON. That must help you figure out why. I was off for 11 hrs overnight, and I have that gap. I numerous times today would log off to try something and when I log back on that data is missing. See chart from just now

now I really do need to go to bed. Please find out what is wrong. I cant work until you do.

If others are having the problem and we only know of one other user, it must be something with port blocking being done by Internet carriers, whether they acknowledge this or not. It may not be the ISP doing the blocking but it may be elsewhere.

The way around that is to use Port 80 explained here:

just to make sure you know I am and have been on port 80 since midday yesterday here is a screenshot. Didn't fix it. There is something else wrong and you are going to have to work with my ISP. He is willing to have one of his engineers work with you. If you are so bloody sure it's a port being blocked then by working with them you can be proved 100% correct.

But we still need to address how I get my 11 hrs of data back...

I assume you are working on this? I am NOT going to stop until you work with me in figuring out why I am missing 11 hours of data. If it is simply my isp blocking ports or firewalls then why aren't you working with them? Prove yourself right. I as you customer am entitled to an answer. I realise you don't give a rat's about customer service. There isn't a discord room I am in that doesn't joke about a lack of interest in helping customers. But seriously??? Yes John, I updated my phone to my UK number yesterday as requested. I am sorry I am being aggressive, but I am trying my very best to work with you. If you think it's my ISP firewall I have the luxury of getting you an engineer from my ISP who will work with you! I understand your software, like any, can have glitches. Let's please solve this together. Other people in my OFL group had gaps this week. They solved theirs by emptying the charts. I tried it with Ray, with Fleri from OFL, and with another super clued in guy and all three times despite clearing old data the missing 11 hrs wouldn't reload. I hate bugging you and being a miserable old cow, but I need that data. And ALL of us need to know why it happened so to help others in the future.

I am here all day and look forward to speaking to someone from SC. Again Gigaclear's staff will work with you on stuff that I would never in a million years understand. Many thanks, Karen

You need to get a network engineer into your home.

This is not our responsibility to solve your networking problems.

You need to get a network engineer, or a technician, at your location to figure out the problem.

And if anyone else has an issue, they need to contact us directly. No one else has issue other than one user from over a day ago, and that issue is resolved for them. You are the only one with a problem like this. And we do not know where the problem is other than it being a network connectivity issue somewhere. We do not accept any claim from you that there are others with an issue. They would come to us and no one else has.

These are the errors we are seeing from your log:

You need to get someone at your location.

And then show them the Message Log through Window >> Message Log.



At that time you need to right-click on a chart and select Delete and Download Data. That will initiate a download. It then will run into an error after a certain amount of time, about 20 seconds.

They can see the server being connected to and the port. Example:

And then they can subsequently, see the error messages like:

You need to take care of the problem. That is your responsibility. We do not help with users networking issues. Get the problem solved on your side. Get someone into your home, a network engineer or technician and have them solve the problem.

And once again it does not matter, what you say regarding other users issues. None of those from our perspective are considered valid at all because they need to contact us directly with the specific issue and no one has.

And the users who have trouble with Rithmic or CQG historical data, that is wholly unrelated since that is not our data. There are no problems within Sierra Chart regarding this issue.

That is with certainty.

Bring a network engineer or technician into your home and get this solved.

well boys, we have an answer...and it was Alec sending me your instructions again that I thought ok I will try yet again. Bear in mind that when Ray rang me on the morning it was discovered he also did the 'right click and delete and reload' which I had done to no avail earlier that morning. But ya know what both he and I were missing??? Yes, you must know as you designed it, you have to click your mouse to left of the missing data!!!! It wasn't until I read this carefully line by line I thought hmmm did Ray and I do that? Guess what even Ray didn't know that. I went to my charts, I right clicked to left of the missing data and presto 11hrs is back. Why isn't this highlighted in the instructions? Why did not even Ray know about it?

This makes no sense at all. Your Message Logs clearly shows repeated over and over again connectivity errors with the downloading of historical data. And when you were not connected the data feed and connect, Sierra Chart downloads the missing data and if that was failing it is because of a connectivity error.

The issue was not as you describe until at some point later, when the network connectivity issue which existed, was cleared up at some point.



This is 100% untrue:

We have multiple logs from you which prove otherwise.



And we did ask Ray, what exactly they saw when they performed the the Delete and Download Data operation on the chart and what they saw was after 20 seconds there would be a red box displaying the error message. So at that time there was also a connectivity issue. That is what the issue was all along.

Listen I know f all about tech obviously...all I know is this morning I went back from port 80 YES, to NO. Also this morning I tried another virgin chart-missing the data. It was only when I clicked to left of the missing data that the data reappearred. I haven't a clue. I am just glad it's over.
