So, I'm a still a bit miffed with Sierra Chart as I paid for access to real time Bid/Offer Volume data for Equities from 2020 until 2022 when I was unceremoniously told that the data I was getting wasn't complete and that there was no viable alternative..Have a nice day Not only did I pay for two years of "incomplete" data but I also paid a programmer a lot of money to create a spreadsheet so I could manipulate what I had been assured was accurate and complete data. I received multiple confirmations that this did indeed happen as apparently it's now common knowledge. Anyway, that's in the past. I was recently informed from a very reliable source that this exact data issue had been resolved. Please confirm this is the case and that there is now indeed a reliable and complete Real Time Equities Volume at Bid and Volume at Offer datafeed And if so, which Data feed I would need to order? To be honest, for what I was put through with this snafu I think I should get some credit added to my account.. It would be the right thing to do.. Anyway, I've attached my current account status. Looking forward to your response, Jonathan Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-03-18 02:22:50

Can you specifically let us know what you are referring to: when I was unceremoniously told that the data I was getting wasn't complete and that there was no viable alternative.
During the time period you are mentioning, there were no issues with the US equities data feed. We do not know what you are referring to at all here. I received multiple confirmations that this did indeed happen as apparently it's now common knowledge.
We are quite certain, that what you are posting here is 100% incorrect. There is no validity to this at all. The only reliable source is us. Not someone who does not have inside knowledge. I was recently informed from a very reliable source that this exact data issue had been resolved. This has been offered since about the year 2014: Please confirm this is the case and that there is now indeed a reliable and complete Real Time Equities Volume at Bid and Volume at Offer datafeed
One recent difference is that the US Equities Consolidated Tape Feed is now directly obtained by us. Thinking about this some more, there was a short amount of time, about 3 or 4 weeks, when we transitioned the source for our US Equities consolidated tape data from Barchart to direct feeds, where if someone did not already have the US Equities consolidated tape activated, we would require they use NASDAQ TotalView. However, this was only in effect for about a week or two. After that, if someone wanted the full consolidated tape feed, we would manually activate that data feed for them. Actually I think that's exactly what happened. It was traumatic for me as I'm not a part of a big trading firm with a tech support staff and all of a sudden I no longer had access to real time data..no explanation, nothing. I was able to connect with an agent from your company named Ray(see attached) who I believe was located in Europe. We even spoke on the phone and net net, although he was helpful he revealed everything that I mentioned in my post. More or less that unbeknownst to me, I had been using incomplete data and that it was no longer available. He then offered me access to something(perhaps TotalView) but it was foreign to me and clearly didn't provide for the integration of Real Time Volume at Bid & Offer that I had been using in my spreadsheets. Now that I look at that correspondence with Ray, whatever he tried to help me with required signing documents as noted in the attached screenshot. I remember being totally abandoned when this happened but also appreciated his effort in providing me data from an alternative data source but whatever it was couldn't be integrated into my spreadsheets..which was everything to me. Anyway, that's what happened. I guess I just got unlucky in regard to timing as apparently this was all sorted out at some point in the future but I had walked away from you guys feeling like I was kicked to the curb. Anyway, moving forward, I'd like to fire up my spreadsheets again and hopefully be able to see "Volume at Bid/Offer" as subgraphs(see other attachment) and once again feed and manipulate that data into my spreadsheets. Presently, I believe I have a $25 credit balance but like I said in my post, I still have a bad taste in my mouth from this episode. Anyway, I don't want to dwell on what happened as I don't think Sierra intentionally tried to harm me. I'd imagine you can see what my setup was prior to that "lost period" and I'd welcome your input on how I can jump back in. I trade Equities mainly and desire Real Time data for all related exchanges in the Equity space(Nasdaq, NYSE..etc..etc) |

Hi Stealthy Trader, first step for Consolidated Tape (SIP) Data is to complete the Market Data Agreement >> Here is what "Needs to be completed: UTP-NASDAQ CTA-NYSE Non-Professional Certification" https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=ExchangeAgreements_STOCKS Then you can activate the data via #3 here: https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=ServicesActivation#USEquities See some set-up steps here: Now Available: New US Equities Consolidated Tape Data Feed (Starting with NASDAQ) |
