Hi I started a new TopStep combine yesterday and absolutely positively 100 per cent changed Sierra Chart to trade the new account, rather than the old one (which was also still active) I used the dropdown box in Data\Trade Service Setting, and checked that this was carried over to the Trade Window, which it was. Definitely. But my trades were recorded by TopStep T4 on the old account, they have shown me the account statement. I KNOW that I had Sierra Chart set correctly to the new account, so to prove it I looked for a log file, but the Message log had reset this morning. I found a Trace Log from the afternoon, but that actually only contained mention of the old account. Another Trace Log from the evening mentioned the new account. So that suggests I was in the wrong, but I know I wasn't. Sorry, I'm not making excuses, but I KNOW Sierra Chart showed the account change correctly before I traded yesterday. The only factor I can think of is Outlook stopped working on my machine last night, so I had to reboot it. The later Trace Log was from after this, so perhaps the change only took effect after a reboot? Is there any light you can shed on this, or are there any additional logs that I could look at to support my argument? I'm using SC 997. Many thanks |

It sounds as though the CTS username that you login to the CTS system with has 2 accounts? If so, then with the version of Sierra Chart you are on, you need to select File >> Disconnect and then File >> Connect to Data Feed after changing the account in the Data/Trade Service Settings window. This is not the case in the newer versions of Sierra Chart that have multiple account support. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Correct, the CTS username has two accounts. Thanks for confirming my sanity! I don't see the need to Disconnect and reconnect after account changes in the documentation, so it seems less than ideal for SC to report one account as in-use but trade another. However, I noted that the new version fixed this so upgraded... Now I have the following error recorded in the log, I followed the instructions (twice) to Reset the symbols for the FIX update, and tried restarting, but same result. I note there are some prior posts about FIX problems with T4 particularly on TST combines (the reason I hadn't updated so far) but they seem to report this problem being solved. Please could you let me know if there is something I'm missing, or do I now need to go back to 997 to get SC to work again? In the case of the CTS T4 trading platform service, there was not proper support for multiple accounts in 997 and earlier. This is why we worked very hard to get off of the old API and add multiple account support as soon as possible. However, as long as you select the correct account in File >> Data/Trade Service Settings and reconnect to the server, then that account will be used. Although, you should not switch among accounts. Apparently CTS has taken down the FIX simulation server due to issues. So you need to use 997. The live FIX server is available.
