Hi there,

My computer crashed so had to reformat.
I am still unfortunately haven't had the time to switch to Denali, still running SC and bookmap.
Can you help me out to download 1991 so at least I can get my charts back going? Right now I am all down.
I tried the sierra chart donwloader> picked previous version> 1991> it returned an error of a bad url

Cheers

Is there some reason you want to be on version 1991? We are no longer supporting versions that old, so you will need to update anyway.

With regards to Rithmic on the current version, you need to switch to the new Rithmic Interface rather than use the old Bridge files. Refer to the following instructions:
Rithmic Trading Platform Service: Setup Instructions
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:

You should be good with the new interface. Be sure you enter your information for all the Data Fields in the Data/Trade Service Settings, just to make sure that that is not where the error is coming from.

ok I've gotten the connection.

Once I am connected even if I delete and redownload all data there seems to be a huge gap 6-9-2021 to 7-29, how do I fix that?

We do not know why there is a gap in the data. We do not give support for external data feeds, as we have just had too much trouble with them and this is another example of problems with the data.

In order to ensure that you get the best data, and hence the best experience with Sierra Chart, we recommend that you use the Denali Exchange Data Feed. You can use our data and trade with Rithmic. Refer to the information on this page:
Denali Exchange Data Feed

Does anybody else on Rithmic have this problem? Would like some help from any user that is using rithmic

I set up this account on latest version of SC brand new. Everytime I close and reload the intraday charts, it just pulls up to the minute, everything before that is not there, or it's random data. I tried deleting the chart file. Is there a cache in here?

I normally trade ES, but I tried MNQ as well same thing.
However, the market stats don't have this behaviour like tick, or nyse volume, they load fine.

Any help would be much appreciated, I am down a day already.

Cheers

Yes they do. However, you really do need to use the Denali Exchange Data Feed for the most complete and reliable data for Sierra Chart.

The cost is only 10 USD more and then there is the exchange fee of about 3 USD per month.

The instructions are on this page:
Denali Exchange Data Feed

That's because this data comes from our market data services:
However, the market stats don't have this behaviour like tick, or nyse volume, they load fine.

Is there a setting that would limit the data being pulled in?

it seems like the only the last two days are being saved in sierra chart, this is the third day that I am down.
Before I had 7/31, now I have starting 8/1

There is not a setting that controls this. This is just the data that we are getting from Rithmic.

The only solution is to use the Denali Exchange Data Feed for your data. Refer to the following:

Hi John,

Hey I've been frantically been trying to get Rithmic to get back to me on this problem, they said I can go back to an older revision, are you able to do that for me? I've been down for 3+ days
This is their reply:

"We are aware that tick history retrieval with this interface is incomplete, and we are working to resolve this with Sierra Charts. You have a couple of options:
Many customers have loaded Sierra Charts Minute bar charts from Rithmic with success.
You might want to check with Sierra Charts and see if you can use the older version while we work on tick history."

Just wanted to share my experience with Denali data feed, I was using IB's (Interactive Brokers) feed for years and was satisfied, but was always curious if I was missing anything, I know IB gives snap shots not the full feed. I switched to Denali mid last month and I won't switch back to IB. I haven't had any problems. I use volume charts so I had to adjust size of charts (IB 100v chart basically = a Denali 300v chart on the NQ's)

It's the beginning of the month for a minimal amount of money you can see if it works for you. What has 3 days of opportunity cost you?

In regards to post #12, set this setting to 1 Minute:
Data/Trade Service Settings: Intraday Data Storage Time Unit (Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Common Settings)

And then re-download the data:

Re-download all the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download". You just need to do this once per symbol and not for each chart.

However, are far better off at this time to use the Denali Exchange Data Feed:
Denali Exchange Data Feed

You will immediately have the best quality reliable data.

Thank you you guys for your help and suggestions.
I am just a bit perplexed right now because the other charting platform that I use bookmap does not support denali, it's still in development once it's done I would be safe to move all my feeds over to denali. It seems that there are a lot of support for this as well https://bookmap.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=2598

In the mean time, @Sierra_Chart Engineering, is it possible for you to make an exception and allow me on an older version of Sierra Chart?
It seems like I am stuck in between if I switch then my bookmap would not work at the moment. It sucks that my computer had to break down otherwise if I had the old version of SC it still worked.

Cheers

Hi Sierra Chart team, I just want to reach out for help for a resolution here, looks like it is a break fix situation in the mean time. Rithmic thinks this is a longer term fix, I hope you can understand and allow me to roll back to a previous version this has been really detrimental for me to be down for almost an entire week. I am just not in a position to move both ways because Denali is not supported yet for bookmap even if I move one of my charting platforms will break. I am pondering to change my trading style because of this, not not rely on tick charts, but this will be a long term plan.

This is rithmic's reponse:

"I am sorry that you are experiencing an outage. We have been working with Sierra Charts to develop a new and improved interface for Sierra Charts on Rithmic to solve problems that Sierra Charts and the users of Sierra Charts reported to us. Long term we think this will improve the experience of Sierra Charts users. We recently decided to open this up to a select few users of Sierra Charts for beta testing. In our opinion the new interface is not yet ready for all production users, partly because it has not been widely tested. We hope to use the beta test process to improve the process and then extend this as an offering to all Sierra Charts production users.

In our opinion no user of Sierra Charts should be forced to use our beta product before it is ready. We hope that if users find issues with the new version, that they will be able to use the old version during the time it takes for us to resolve the issues with the new product. Since you are experiencing issues with the new version, I encourage you to use the old version until these issues are resolved."

There are technical reasons why this cannot be done. We cannot get into a long involved work to try to accommodate this. We will not do that and only run into problem after problem along the way.

Why cannot you run the current version of Sierra Chart? If you want to use the old Rithmic connection that still is available and there is a bridge program available that can be downloaded which is needed for that. We have to find the message board thread though.
