Today Sunday the only symbols for which I have data for are ES, YM and NG. Everything else (ie, metals, bonds, etc) is not updating, and instead is displaying the last Friday price on the charts and zero on the quoteboards. |

I am having the same problem with 1329. I am also getting messages that I am limited to one connection per username although I am normally authorized for two.

We have reset the connections to the CME market data feeds peer at all symbols should be working now we are patching the missing data. That will take about another 15 to 20 minutes. I am having the same problem with 1329. I am also getting messages that I am limited to one connection per username although I am normally authorized for two.
Restart Sierra Chart. If you still have the same problem, make sure you are not using the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed from more than two instances of Sierra Chart. If this is not the case, then start a new thread and post a copy of the Message Log. You may still see this message in the Message Log when Sierra Chart connects to the server, but on the second try, you should not get it.

So after all the data is "patched" how will Sierra know to fix that situation? If you say "go to each chart and delete and redownload" then that's precisely what I was referring to in the other thread about data robustness. How's the chart client going to magically know it has missing data now?

As common sense should tell you, there simply is no reliable and consistent way that Sierra Chart can know that data is missing and prevent numerous false alarms. The user needs to recognize the missing data and we need to manually tell the user when the data is patched, if it was missing from the server temporarily, and then they can follow the procedure here to re-download the data: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_HistoricalIntradayData.html#RetryDownloadDataInChart And as we have said before and is documented, there is a procedure to download data for all open charts: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_HistoricalIntradayData.html#DeleteDownloadAllCharts The underlying reason for this problem is being looked into. Obviously it should not have happened and we do not know at this point why it happened but it will be resolved. The missing historical data is now patched. It can be re-downloaded in the charts using the instructions linked to above. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. NG bid/ask volume is screwed up since session start. All bid/ask are 0 volume however price levels appear correct. I know this data is wrong because I saw correct bid/ask values before deleting and redownloading NG data for the front month. Just look at a number bars study. The Bid Volume and Ask Volume have now been added for natural gas (NG). Re-download the data. Also the source of this original problem potentially has been discovered. The CME came out with a new template file this week and apparently not all of our data feed processing program instances had been using the new template. We are to make sure that the templates are downloaded 30 minutes before the open Sunday evening and reconnect to the multicast feeds at that time to ensure the state is good and reliable. We do see a problem earlier with the CME data feed on one of our servers for some symbols but it is now resolved. Are you still noticing an issue? We have identified the problem and will have a new software release out after the close to resolve it. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. @SierraChart Could you please specify which symbols experienced a problem? I run 30 symbols/charts fed by the Sierra data feed. Would be helpful if I would not have to delete and redownload all of them. Thank you. |

The problem is affecting one of the servers. When you see a problem like this you can just select File >> Disconnect and File >> Connect to Data Feed to switch to the other server. However, the underlying issue is now being fixed at this moment. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. The LE problem appears to have been a CME data feed issue. We had made a posting that the symbol was missing from a configuration file but that was a mistake and we deleted that post. Regarding the LE, apparently that was limit down and the price/trading was halted: http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?l=1449525838415.png Is this what you were referring to? Good I had no positions on, as I had no way to know about this through your data service. I noticed it was not updating together with so many other instruments, but the others came back on, LE did not. |

The problem experienced with intermittently stopped data for some CME symbols today (2015-12-07), affected only one of our servers. You can always switch to the other server by reconnecting to the data feed: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_FileMenu.html#ProcedureToReconnect The conclusion at this point, is that for unknown reason, the server was not running optimally. We have restarted it. A lot of work has gone into our server software, hardware and procedures to provide reliable historical and real-time data. A situation like occurred today, was unrelated to the CME template issue yesterday and this issue was very unexpected. It is very unusual and we are not sure what the underlying cause actually was. Now that we are aware of it, we will monitor for it and determine a proper solution. Furthermore, the issue yesterday, 2015-12-06, involving not using the updated CME template for some of our CME data feed processes, has been permanently solved.
