Issue with multiple technicals being highlighted, with numbers

Hello, since I installed Sierra Chart on my new desktop computer, I am unable to highlight just on one of the technicals, as when I click the chart all of the technicals, trend lines, extending rectangles etc. are highlighted, with numbers.
When I clear them with ESC, they come right back after clicking on the chart again.
I had the same issue at my office, when I re-downloaded Sierra Chart, but it cleared up after downloading most current version.

Also, I had to do a screen shot, as it was the only way, for you to see this.

Thanks
Martin

Thanks, I just tried the pointer, and it does not make any difference.
Multiple trend lines are highlighted, with one click, anywhere on the chart.

Hello, please see the link below.
Multiple indicators are are highlighted, and I am unable to select just one, without zooming way in.
It does this on all pages, and all charts.
I think that I should probably delete, and re-install Sierra Chart.
It may be the easiest solution.

Thanks

The only reason this should be occurring is if your "Tool" selection is set to one of "Move Drawing", "Adjust Drawing", or "Erase Drawing Mode". In each of these "modes" you are prompted to select the specific drawing you want, which is why you are seeing the numbers showing. This is also why we stated for you to select the "Pointer" tool, as that would take you out of those modes and remove the numbering.

If you do have the Pointer selected as the active tool, then first select the "Escape" key on your keyboard and see if that resolves this. If not, then enter a number followed by the "Enter" key on your keyboard (for instance <0> <Enter>) to select a drawing and have the system then act on that drawing based on the mode it thinks you are in and it should then take you out of that mode.

Thank you, all of your suggestions take me out of Move drawing, Adjust drawing, and Erase drawing modes.
I checked and I am not in any of these, but it still highlights and shows numbers.
The numbers in the above modes are all 3 digit, but the ones showing are single digit.
I also tried escape,0, enter.

Your suggestions are good, but there is something else going on, I better delete, and reinstall, to see if that resolves the problem, as it only started with the new computer download.

Thanks
Martin

We really do not want you to delete and reinstall Sierra Chart. You definitely do not need to do this.

What happens if you open a new chart and add a drawing to it. Do you have the number show up on that drawing?

Also, we do not understand what you mean by "The numbers in the above modes are all 3 digit, but the ones showing are single digit." When you are in one of the tool modes for Move, Adjust, or Erase, the drawings will have the numbers shown on them as you are seeing now. There is no 3 digit numbers associated with these. Where are you seeing a 3 digit number?

Hello, the first link is a new chart, in a new chartbook.
I clicked on the chart near the extending rectangle with the pointer.
The second link is a chart with Adjust Drawing activated in tools.
The third link is a chart in my main chartbook with Adjust Drawing activated, that is where I saw the 3 digit numbers.

The problem is that when drawing tools are close, multiple tools are activated in the vicinity when clicking on the chart.

You have us very confused. You are going to see those numbers when you have the Tool selected as "Adjust Drawing". This is the correct functioning as the system is asking you which drawing you want to select. The 3 digit numbers are only due to having a large number of drawings on that chart. You must have approximately 110 drawing on that chart.

When you set your tool to "Pointer" (Tools >> Pointer) do you still have the numbers showing?

Hello, yes ,it is a bit confusing.
With the pointer engaged, and Move Drawing off ,Adjust Drawing off, Copy and Adjust off, all of these are for sure not engaged in tools, the below link is what I get when clicking the chart, with the pointer, I clicked near the upper extending rectangle, and pressed ESC prior.

I have drawn some random drawing tools so that you can see that they are not ALL activated, with numbers, I marked the ones not activated.
Only the ones in the proximity of where I clicked on the chart, are activated with numbers.
It makes it extremely difficult to modify a single drawing tool.
Also, this is a new chart.

Hello, I deleted and re-installed Sierra Chart this morning and the problem is resolved.
It appears that it might have been a bug, as the setting were set properly.
Thanks for your input, not easy to solve this one.

In general, if you are trying to select a drawing and it is close to other drawings, then you will get the numbers showing in the drawings to let you select which drawing you want.

If we had known this was the issue, then the setting to check would have been the following:
Chart Drawing Tools: Drawing Selection Margin in Pixels (Global Settings >> Tool Settings >> General >> Tool Options)

That setting was probably set to a large value, and having reinstalled Sierra Chart set it back to the default.

Thanks John, you are correct, I was trying to create some space between the right edge, and the scale margin.
The line chart goes right to the edge.
That obviously wasn't the correct setting.
Not sure if there is a setting for that.

Glad that I re-downloaded though, everything is super fast and smooth.
