Denali data delay in Thailand and solution

This week around US market open then 2-3 hours into the morning, my real time Denali data for both US futures and equities was running between 15-120 seconds delayed with glitchy erratic updates to charts and time and sales window, this happened till 12-1pm when the problem would cease.

I'm in Thailand. I have a 100mbps connection on which everything else was fine, SC is set as an exception for my security software but I am part of a trading group where colleagues in US using SC were not experiencing the issues I was. I usually never use a VPN when trading but decided to try setting mine to a US server and this solved the problem immediately.

This is the second report we have like this of users having connectivity issues, in Thailand. We will be looking into it and see how to resolve it from our side.

Rather than using the VPS what we want you to do is to update Sierra Chart to the current version:
Software Download: Fast Update

And then set Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings >> General >> CME Exchange Data Feed Server Address and Port Override to: DS13.SierraCharts.com.

You also need to reconnect after this change with File >> Reconnect.

Let us know if that resolves the issue.

We are also contacting our ISP, Cogent regarding the issue. And we are in the process of adding another ISP but that is not likely to be complete for about four weeks.

Let us know if you are still having the problem when not using the VPN, and if so we need to know your ISP.

Hello, I updated from SC 2629 to 2634 and set the port override as suggested but data running 15-30 seconds behind this morning. Once again VPN set to USA solved the problem. MY ISP is AIS Thailand

Let us know your ISP. Cogent (Our ISP) asked for this.

Related question:
Are you guys planning on expanding Replication of CME Server Data to other locations? e.g. London/Europe?

I would be very interested in testing this if you are.

No plans for this for CME:

There are very significant infrastructure upgrades we are doing in Europe, but only for EUREX.

Hello, Just saw your sticky regarding data issues outside USA. FWIW I'm having big issues now in Thailand, the worst I've experienced. Previously setting my VPN to USA resolved the problems but even that's not working now. All the best getting this sorted soon

Cogent has been removed from the routing. We have a solution right now.

Use this server: DS32.sierracharts.com or DS32-2.sierracharts.com

To use this specific server, enter it in this field in Sierra Chart:
Sierra Chart Server Settings: CME Exchange Data Feed Server Address and Port Override (Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings >> General >> Special)

And this field:
Sierra Chart Server Settings: CME Exchange Data Feed Historical Server Address Override (Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings >> General >> Special)

You also need to reconnect with File >> Reconnect.

Thanks.

I updated my custom server settings then reconnected as advised on 18 June but I'm still having problems with glitchy delayed data. My usual trick of VPN set for USA seems to only work sometimes (not today)

All other online services are running fine including charts and data from my broker

You are in Thailand. Refer to this thread for more information about this:
Rithmic/APEX Data Lag

Starting with post #42. We want to see a trace route from your side.

Cogent is no longer being used from our side. So there is no involvement of Cogent from our side. At this point the data goes through Lumen, and over to Tata communications in Chicago. But there may be involvement of Cogent from your side and we cannot control that.
