When I type these symbols ($INX, $NYA, $IUXX, $DOWI) into SC, it tells me they are not recognized. What do I need to do? Thanks.

Did you want real-time data for those symbols?

Or just historical data?

You need to activate the Sierra Chart Real-time and Historical Exchange Data Feed on your account:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php

And activate the exchanges that each of these symbols trades on.

I had real time and historical exchange data, but the error I get on Sierra Charts when I look at $INX, $NYA, $IUXX, or $DOW is that these symbols are no longer valid and it says something about the symbols being wrong as if they have changed the symbols, which has happened on certain symbols in SC a few months back. So I thought that these symbols had changed. If I understand your answer, they have not changed. You wrote that I need to turn on real time exchange data and historical data, but I clearly have that now in futures with Rithmic. I have had that for months and could see these symbols just fine until recently. Maybe we are dealing with a semantics issue here--the meaning of words. I have real time data with futures. I have real time tick data from the NY, the SP, and the DOW. But how do I get my real time back for $INX, $NYA, $IUXX, or $DOW?

Please explain in very clear and precise steps without missing a step that you assume I know, because I don't know what you know. I'm a simple man. Thank you.

Let us just get right to the basics. Are you willing to pay about 48 USD per month for these? If not, then there is no need for further instructions.

How much it cost was not part of my question. I'm glad to pay a fee for what I get. I love SC and think this is the best charting program I have ever used. In fact, I was paying for these real time indexes already. I already had these indexes in real time, so what happened? Why don't I have them now? How do I get them back? There are so many options for data, frankly it is confusing to me. Here is the error I got: "Technical Notice: A completely new market statistics data feed is now being provided. There are new symbols for this data feed. The old symbols like $TICK are no longer supported." Does this mean that what I was paying for to get these indexes is no longer valid, and now SC is offering an entirely new data feed that I need to sign up for? And have those symbols changed in the new data feed? Where do I find that data feed, and sign up for it? The one I saw from the link you provided said about $15 a month. So I must not have been looking at the right one. And then do I need to unsign for exchange data on these indexes that I was paying for, or will that automatically expire? You can see why I'm struggling to get set up permanently on these indexes.

You should not have had access to these cash indices last month because your data feed account was canceled the entire last month due to an insufficient balance. Did you have access to them last month?

Go to this page and add an additional 10 USD:
https://www.sierrachart.com/usercp.php?page=AddAccountCredit

Let us know when that is done and then we will do the necessary activations on your account for these cash indices.

The market statistics data feed is separate from these cash indices. That data feed is included with Sierra Chart Service Packages 3 and 5.

This is a total of 4 exchanges. The exchange fees are 13 USD per month and are not prorated.

The data feed is 35 USD a month and that is prorated.

Do you want to wait until September 1 to begin this?

We activated the data feed and the exchanges except for the Dow Indices exchange.

Your balance was 44 USD and now it is .25 and there is an insufficient balance for the 3.25 USD exchange fee.

You will need to add more to the balance here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/usercp.php?page=AddAccountCredit

Once that is done you can activate the exchange here:

To access the symbols that you have requested, requires that you update Sierra Chart by selecting Help >> Download Current Version.

This is essential.

And then you will find the symbols listed in File >> Symbol >> Indexes.
