A TT Server is Down Affecting Sierra Chart Order Routing Service (not Teton)

TT (Trading Technologies) has one or more servers down, and this is affecting the Sierra Chart Order Routing Service from our (Sierra Chart) Aurora server. This is not a Sierra Chart issue but an issue on the TT side. We are contacting TT about this.

We had put out a notice to all of our customers using the older Sierra Chart Order Routing Service to move off of that service to our Teton order routing service. Full documentation is here:

Take our advice get off of the older TT based order routing services as soon as possible. Immediately. Tomorrow. Please do not put any further reliance on TT.

This is the situation:

1. We have shutdown access to the affected server, for users using the Sierra Chart/TT based order routing service. You will now be connected to our server in a different data center which has got a connection to a TT server which is not affected by whatever this TT problem is.

2. Any OCO or Bracket orders managed on that Aurora server are no longer being managed until the connection is restored to TT from that Sierra Chart server for routing of orders for the older Sierra Chart order routing (not Teton).


In this situation, monitor your position and orders carefully and if you do not see OCO or bracket order functionality working as expected, then manually take the appropriate action.

Once again this is not a Sierra Chart server issue in any way. This is strictly a TT issue. Our servers and software are functioning completely normal and properly. We have never had a problem like this on our side.

The TT server problem is resolved. We do have the connectivity back to TT right now. We are urging all users on the Sierra Chart order routing service (utilizing TT) to move off of this service as quickly as possible. We know a small number of users are not going to be able to move off. That is fine.

Just provide us an explanation of why you want to stay.

Once again we are not referring to the Teton order routing service. Teton has no involvement with TT at all.

Teton has had solid connectivity since it was released. No issues.

We made a decision to shut the service down for all users April 2, 2022.

If you have a need to be on the service, we will discuss options with you.

If you need more time, to migrate off of the Sierra Chart/TT Order Routing Service, we will give you more time. We will be accommodating. But we also need to set a deadline, for those who have no reason to be on the service any longer. That is most of the users. We need to get you off immediately!

And for Trading Technologies customers, we offer a superb solution with trading and charting and market data, and order routing. All very high-quality, and extremely cost efficiently.

We have already moved a number of people from TT to Teton seamlessly. We truly believe that Teton is a much better solution. In our opinion, Teton is a state-of-the-art solution direct into the exchange. We have had great feedback at Stage 5 on the use of Teton so far. We highly encourage you to make the relatively painless swap with Stage 5.

In addition, Teton Order Routing has ZERO transaction fees, so TT traders will save $0.10 per contract on transaction fees alone! Below you will find some experiences from our traders with Teton Order Routing.

How does Sierra Teton perform versus your previous data feed?

- I was using Sierra's TT order routing via Dorman. The Teton order routing is noticeably faster, and the acct balance updates faster.
- Previously Denali/TT routing. Its working really well. Possibly a bit quicker to report the fill than TT but I could be imagining it :-). Both TT/Teton are great and I much prefer having a single data/trading feed over a separate connection (eg CQG/Gain) as previously - fewer things to go wrong! And obviously with Teton not charging for fills this can make a big difference to costs when trading micros.
- I believe I was previously using Sierra Chart’s TT based order routing service. I haven’t noticed a difference, which I consider to be a positive.

Was migrating your brokerage account over to Sierra Teton a smooth and efficient process?

- Yes, just follow the instructions, everything is explained.
- Migrating was very easy, you did an awesome job!
- Could not get any better. Highly efficient
- Yes indeed that was smooth You guys were spot on with your work and communication and with a bit of testing today looks like it will be a solid connection
- Extremely quick No issues whatsoever.
- Yes, thanks to Byron. SierraCharts docs on Teton were also helpful.
