I am Gary D****, AMP account *****. I experienced some issues this week which I have been told are related to CQG data and my account was placed in a "Liquidate Only" status until a few minutes ago. I took a test trade while on the phone with the AMP trade desk. I sold one contract short the June ES by the Sell Mkt button, and then hit the Flatten button. Per the AMP trade desk that resulted in a loss of ($12.50). However, in the Sierra Platform it shows three issues: 1) I am showing a daily loss of ($653.75). That was the first and only trade since 3/16. 2) The Trade Activity Log does not show that I took a short trade, it shows I am still in a Long trade. AMP reports that I am in fact flat, but suggested that there are other traders using Sierra having similar issues right now. 3) I have the Profit/Loss Text set to show current trade time duration. Sierra removed the position line when I hit Flatten, but the timer is still running. Screenshot attached. Please let me know what I need to do to reset Sierra. Thanks for your help. |

1. Refer to the following: Help With Daily Profit/Loss Value 2. Really, this is related to the above and is covered in that topic, but you can also take a look at the following: Trade Activity Log: Missing Order Fills from Trade Activity Log 3. Related to the same as above. You appear to be missing an order fill somewhere to have your account flat within Sierra Chart. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

John, That does not address the issue I am having. I have confirmed with the trade desk that I am indeed flat, and when I enter a trade Sierra shows the position line correctly, and when I close the trade the position line disappears as it should. But in the Trade Log it shows the trades occuring in reverse, and exit becomes the entry and the entry becomes the exit. I have not taken any trades for 48 hours to show in the P&L except for the one test trade for a real result of ($12.50) and a Sierra result of ($653.75). I tried another trade afterwards, same issue. AMP says they are seeing several traders using Sierra with similar problems today. I have used Sierra off and on for a long time, I think it is the best platform out there in terms of stability and customization. But something is wrong and it is inside Sierra. Please take another look. Thanks |

I understand about filling in a missing order fill, but Sierra is showing the trade in reverse, in is out, and out is in. Filling in a fill manually will not correct that, because it will always be opposite. If I am trading short only, when I go flat the buy order that closes the short trade is being recorded by Sierra as a new long entry, and shows that I am still in an open trade, which is confirm by the trade desk to not be true. When I take the next short trade Sierra is recording that short entry as the exit of that previous long trade that I did not actually take. The when I exit that final short trade Sierra shows I enter a long that remains open but in reality does not exist in the market |

John - Don't waste any more time on it. A CQG data issue this week caused live trade issues similar to those Sierra is logging ( out was in, in was out ) that I am currently waiting for the broker to sort out. I opened this support ticket at the suggestion of the broker, but I am nearly certain the issue is not directly caused by SC. Thanks for looking into it. I don't necessarily need continuous historical trade statistics, and if I change my mind I can export and have a 'this date thru that date' version at the end of the year. I just installed a 2nd instance of SC "SierraChart2", and will discard the 1st install once we resolve the broker issues. I am also looking into switching over to the Sierra / TT / Denali data. Thanks again. Sierra is the best platform out there :) |

Regarding the first post, you need to adjust the Order Fills Start Date-Time to skip over a period of time where there are missing fills and to match up with the start of a position or when flat: Trade Activity Log: Understanding and Setting the Start Date-Time for a Trades List Regarding post #5, this is the relevant documentation: Chart Trading and the Chart DOM: Accurate Entry/Exit State, Fill Matching and Position Quantities I am also looking into switching over to the Sierra / TT / Denali data.
