Hello Support, I made changes to active services on my account today - I deactivated Denali Data Service, activated Sierra Realtime Exchange data feed and added BATS exchange to it. I already had full CME group exchange data added to the Denali feed. I followed instructions from the documentation (i.e. updated the software, updated the symbols from server etc.). Despite that I have the following issues: - I cannot access exchange symbols, i.e. it seems that the Exchange Data Feed is not enabled (it shows as active under "recurring services" on my account) - CME data feed on my account is still assigned to the Denali Data Service Can you please help me rectify that? I believe I saw a message during stock exchange feed activation process that reassigning CME data feed from Denali to Real-time Exchange Service has to be done via Support Ticket. Thanks in advance. Kind Regards, |

The data feed set up on your account is fine. Tell us one of the symbols you are having a problem with. And have a chart open for that. Be sure you are using the correct symbols. For BATS you would use for example IBM.BZ. And then follow these instructions: Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log: Message Log: Clearing the Message Log Reconnect to the data feed: File Menu: Procedure to Reconnect to the Data and Trade Servers After about 30 seconds, provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#MessageLog Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Hello, Thank you for confirming the account setup is fine. I followed the steps you outlined, which produced the following log (see below). It looks ok to me. However, I still cannot add symbols from BATS. When I go to File > Find Symbol I do see symbol categories for CME, CBOT etc. but when I expand "Stocks" it is empty. I tried IBM.BZ and AMD.BZ which resulted in "not found". I did go to Global Settings > Symbol Settings and clicked Update from Server. Custom checkbox is checked, I tried unchecking and updating symbols again, no difference. I appreciate your support. Software version: 2028 64-bit | 2020-01-14 13:50:32.914

We apologize for the delay. Could you please open a chart for IBM.BZ and then provide the Message Log again.

I followed instructions from this documentation page to open a chart: Getting Started, Opening Charts and Basic Trading: Open A Chart Unfortunately, as I outlined in the previous post, IBM.BZ is not available on the File>Find Symbol menu, so I cannot open a chart. There are no stock symbols available on the list. I hope that helps to pinpoint the issue. |

You just need to manually type the symbol. Instructions: File Menu: Find Symbol (File) And you should also be getting real-time data for CME futures now as well. And we will move the futures over to the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed and cancel the Denali data feed so it does not renew next month. Thank you both. I can open a symbol when I type it in. I tested the intraday datafeed. There is a message "Symbol is unknown. No security definition has been found for the request." Am I correct in understanding that this is due to Interactive Brokers being my broker of choice? Is it possible to have a list of BATS symbols appear when I open the Find Symbol menu? Typing every symbol is not the perfect workflow. I am not sure why CME symbols appear, while BATS symbols don't. |

You can safely ignore that message. It is because you are using Interactive Brokers. To search for symbols follow these instructions: Follow the instructions here to update the Symbol Settings: Global Symbol Settings: Update Global Symbol Settings (Need to do this once) And then these instructions after: File Menu: Searching for Symbols Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
