FIX connection still in beta for CTS?

Dear SC,

Topsteptrader just informed me that I should be using SC 997 with the non-FIX connection, as the FIX connection was still in beta. Is that still the case? I'll give Topsteptrader a heads-up if somebody answers me.

I upgraded to 1032 as I saw a message saying that was recommended, and afterwards only saw a "CTS" (non-FIX) data feed, instead of both FIX and non-FIX CTS.

Best,
Ted

CTS still considers the FIX connection a beta. We did not expect it would be a beta, this long.

Generally the FIX connection works fine and you will need to use that if you have problems with the older connection on 997.

In the newer versions, you will only see CTS T4 listed in the list of Services and it does use FIX.

Thanks. I just downgraded to 997 and did a full reset of symbol settings, and neither the CTS T4 or CTS T4 FIX feeds are working. Is it just me? Thanks.

What precisely is the problem? Are you not able to connect.

If so, post a copy of the Message Log, by following these steps:

It disconnects immediately with following message:

Connecting to CTS T4 Live server. | 2013-10-24 17:36:54
CTS T4 Service: Error connecting to CTS T4. Exception message: Error getting server config details. | 2013-10-24 17:36:54

But the CTS T4 Sim server lets me connect without problems on SC 997.

edit: Please see the attached message logs for sc997 and sc1032. I just upgraded to 1032 again, and still can only connect to the CTS sim server. This is probably just a CTS issue. They had one on the 22nd at 10:30p.m. that gave similar error messages for 1032 (possible incorrect user ID and pass combination), which subsided within a few hours (I was using "Smart Trade" as they recommended).

I contacted CTS T4 support earlier this week but didn't get any answer. I can't wait until the SC CME intraday tick feed is available later this year.

Best,
Ted

When you login to your same account through the T4 trading software, do you notice the problem?

We need to report this to CTS. We will need to get your CTS Username and the Firm and whether you are connecting to the Live or Simulation server. Send us this information to:
https://www.sierrachart.com/usercp.php?page=SupportTickets

It would also help if you show us the Message Log at the time you connect. Please only provide us one log.

CTS really should handle this directly because it slows down the communication process when we get into the middle of it. And we have no control over connections.

Dear Sierra Chart,

The problem was 100% on my end. I just found out from TopstepTrader that I did not follow instructions, and didn't pick the "Sim" account. The correct instructions are on both your site and TopstepTraders. I just paid attention to the screenshot on the SC site that shows to use the Live server with CTS. I'm sorry for wasting your time.

Best Regards,
Ted

OK we understand. We thought you had a live trading account and also a simulation account. If you only have a simulation account with Top Step Trader, this is why CTS probably did not respond about it.

We still pay for out "SIM" accounts, maybe even pay more than live users. I hope everyone(namely CTS) realizes this. There seems to be the attitude that SIM is less of a priority. Maybe that would be true if it was FREE, but it is not. Things like server side OCO's and reliable connections are just as important to TsT traders as live traders. CTS must forget that we are paying for our data just like live account holders.

We apologize for the delay with server-side OCO when using CTS. We are going to be releasing that later today.

SC, the OCO's will be greatly appreciated. Please don't take my post as being directed at you, just venting about CTS. I know how much you all have worked at this, and you have been the whipping boy for many of CTS's problems. You guys are great. Keep it up.
