After upgrading to recent and latest releases, Trade Activity Log no longer retains prior trade history after restarting SC, days to save setting and settings at top of Trade Activity Log are unchanged and still set correctly, and it does display trades during the session until SC is restarted. Did not have this issue in prior versions.

Attached privately. For example, I am trying to look at last week's simulated trades and can only see the trades from today 6-8-15.

OK we have started to look at this. We cannot duplicate the problem you describe in the first post. The Trade Activity Log file you provided contained a large amount of data you which we were able to view. And also new trade activity data was saved to that file and was maintained after restarting Sierra Chart. In regards to the last post, this would indicate the fill data you are expecting to see is not in the Trade Activity Log. The only thing we can think of is that possibly the TradeActivityLog.DAT file is set to read-only. Maybe you could take a copy that file, and delete the original one and use that copy. The copy you gave us did work properly. From our perspective it is very confusing when you are using All Symbols and All Accounts. It is much better to use specific settings for a symbol and see if the particular data that you want is actually in the Trade Activity Log by looking at the first tab. The log should contain daily trades dating back for weeks/months+, however it only shows very old trades from 4/6/15 or prior, or trades taken during the current session of Sierra Chart, once it is restarted all new trades since then are lost. Making and using a new copy of the TAL did not fix it. Setting the filters for a particular date, account, or symbol also does not fix it. The trades are disappearing from the TAL upon restarting Sierra Chart, they are not in the Trade Activity tab, which shows completely blank upon restart of Sierra Chart. This is a critical problem losing any ability to track trades/performance. |

We cannot duplicate the problem using the file that you uploaded and there is very little that can go wrong with this. At the moment we have no other reports of this and as we sat there is not much that can go wrong. Exit from Sierra Chart and make a backup of the existing TradeActivityLog.DAT file. And delete that file. Submit some orders in Trade Simulation Mode. Restart Sierra Chart. Do you still see them in the Trade Activity Log? The newly created file after deleting the original seems to be retaining the new trades. The original file must have become corrupt somehow, unfortunate as all recent trade data has been lost. Any way to prevent this in the future? Thanks for your help. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2015-07-01 00:13:22

The original file could not be corrupt because we took it from this Support Board, and we use it ourselves and it did work properly. It did retain the new session order activity after restarting Sierra Chart. Since we cannot duplicate the problem we do not know what the cause was on your system. A problem like this does concern us, but at the same time we do not have any other report of it currently so we suspect for unknown reasons there was a problem writing the data to the original file which is specific to your system. We do not know why. Although this seems very unlikely to us, this is really the only best answer at this point. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
