Want to make sure I’m using Denali data and not Rithmic with my Sierra/Apex connection

I’ve been with Apex in their evaluation program and didn’t realize until today that I can use Sierra to place trades with them by connecting through Rithmic. I set up everything but in reading through Sierra’s documentation and the warnings they have about using Rithmic data I want to make sure that I am still using my Denali data feed.

In the Data/Trade Service Settings the Current Selected Service is Rithmic Direct - DTC (trading) and the Service Setting is Apex-Chicago Area-Non-Aggregated. I’ve entered the Apex/Rithmic Username and Password in the three sections: Trader Username and PW, Market Data Username and PW, and Historical Data Username and PW.

Is that correct? Or should I enter something else in the Market Data and Historical Data fields? Is there anywhere in the Sierra program that would show me that I'm still using the Denali data and not Rithmic?

To check if you are using Sierra Chart data, look at the symbol in the Chart Header (if you have this displayed) and there will be an [M] after the symbol, which means you are getting the data from us. Note that this will not be present in a Sub-Instance. Refer to the following:
Chart Data and Chart Data Files: The Meaning of the [M] Designation after a Symbol

The other thing to check is if the setting for "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds" is set to "Yes". If it is set to "No", then you are definitely not getting the data from us. Refer to the following:
Data/Trade Service Settings: Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds (Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Common Other Settings)

And finally, you need to have subscribed to data from us (it sounds obvious, but you would be surprised). You are subscribed to the "Full CME Group" exchange, so your data for the CME Group would be coming from us assuming the "Allow Support For Sierra Chart Data Feeds" is set to "Yes".

I am trying to view candles in my 5 min, 10 min, 30 min and hour timeframe, but when I try and view the charts, the screen just goes black. What should I do? I am able to view my charts in weekly and daily time frame. I am not receiving any error messages so there shouldn't be a problem, right?

You are not setup to get any data from us, therefore you would be getting your data from Rithmic.

On the "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings" do you the Username/Password entered for the "Market Data Username" and the "Market Data Password"?

We think you probably do not have those two fields entered, but you do have the "Historical Data Username/Password" entered. You need to have the Market Data Username/Password entered in order to get the intraday data from Rithmic.

The post you made for this does not belong in this thread, which was about a different topic. Please open a new thread instead of adding to an existing one. It is actually much easier for us this way.

I have typed in the username and password for market data, but I still do not see the chart information on the lower time frames. What are other alternatives will allow me to see the chart data. And would it be easier/ less expensive if I get my chart data from Sierra charts instead of Rithmnic, and if so, how would I go about it?

It is not "easier" or "cheaper" to get the data from our Denali Exchange Data feed, but the data quality is much better. The main difficulty with getting the data from us is that the CME Group requires that you have a live, funded, futures trading account in order to qualify for the non-professional exchange fees. Prop firm accounts do not count towards this requirement. And you need to connect your Sierra Chart software to that account at least once a month for verification. Refer to the following for more on this requirement:
Denali Exchange Data Feed: Understanding and Accessing Data From the CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX Exchanges

If you want to move forward and have the above worked out, then you can setup the data by following these instructions:
