Live market order placed to short CL no fill data received, after 62sec the order was pulled from Sierra together with attached OCO stop and target orders. After 127 sec the position was shown as open on Sierra, I subsequently closed out with an additional market order which executed correctly. Called AMP to verify currently flat with no orders pending. They confirmed situation and told me that the initial entry order had been filled at the time it was placed (17:42:01 UK time) and suggested I contact Sierra to investigate. My concerns are: 1) Why was this order not acknowledged on Sierra when initially filled? 2) How is it that Sierra deleted market and child orders for a high volume market such as CL? 1. Either a connectivity issue or order fill not sent by CQG. We would not know the reason from our position. 2. If the entry order never received an acknowledgment from CQG it was not even possible for the child Target and Stop orders to be active and they would have been canceled even before getting sent to the exchange. We cannot provide further help. This is a connectivity issue or a CQG issue. We have no control over this at all. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Thank you for looking into this situation I appreciate that Sierra has no control over connectivity or CQG issues. Sierra deleted the filled, but not acknowledged, opening market order. This was a simple market order and my understanding was that these were impossible to delete. It was of course necessary to delete it in order to prevent a double fill. Hopefully this situation will not recur, however if it does I would like to know after what period the order will be cancelled. Have searched the online manual but not able to locate any reference to this action. Please advise |

Sierra deleted the filled, but not acknowledged, opening market order.
Do you mean after a period of time it was marked as Canceled? That is what would happen if it is not acknowledged after a period of time or when you reconnect to the data feed or refresh the order list and it is no longer being provided as a working/filled order.

Yes, I would like to know after what period an order which is not acknowledged by the trading server is cancelled internally by Sierra.

The order will timeout after about 65 seconds. You can refresh the order list to see if there is a response from the trading server: Trade Menu: Refresh Trade Data From Service (Trade menu) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
