I've not been able to get Elgato Stream Deck to activate any shortcut keys in Sierra Chart. I've got 'Trade > Trading Keyboard Shortcuts Enabled' set to ON. I've also made sure shortcut key combinations are not used by the operating system. All shortcuts created in Sierra Chart work perfectly on my keyboard, but not in Stream Deck. Note, I've successfully set up all hotkey buttons for Trading Technologies but for Sierra Chart, no matter what I do, it seems Sierra Chart will not recognize the command from the Stream Deck. Help would be appreciated! Thanks! Date Time Of Last Edit: 2021-08-09 15:23:00

I installed Sierra Chart on my laptop, and Stream Deck works without any issues, FYI. Must be something on Desktop PC. Oh the joys of isolating this.... :'( I also have 3 instances of Sierra Chart on my desktop. The instance I use every day for futures is the one not working, and the 2nd and 3rd instances work perfectly. Perhaps that helps narrow it down a bit? Is it possible that first instance is corrupted somehow?! Ugh. Never figured out what was wrong with installation 1 and 3, but I did manage to move all files from the 1st installation of Sierra Chart, into the 2nd, which provided a solution, and so now on the installation that I use often, stream deck is working perfectly. In the end, this points to some administrative privilege that I couldn't figure out after doing some deep (for me) dives into the application and folder admin settings. I have the same problem with the Elgato Stream Deck not working in Sierra Chart. I've got 'Trade > Trading Keyboard Shortcuts Enabled' set to ON. All keyboard shortcuts created in Sierra Chart work perfectly on my keyboard, but not on the Elgato Stream Deck. The Stream Deck works perfectly in NinjaTrader8 on the same desktop computer (i9-10900k, 64gb Ram), but not in Sierra Chart. I'm using shortcuts for order entry: Buy Ask, Buy Bid, Sell Ask, Sell Bid, etc. The shortcuts I've created for SC and NT8 use different keystrokes and each set occupies a different page on the Stream Deck, so there is no confusion. I have one single instance of Sierra Chart running. I don't know what to do... |

Try running stream deck with administrative privileges in Windows. :)

I use one and have to go into task manager and kill the streamdeck process - it's like it gets hung in there and won't die. One I do that plug it back in and it works. |

Try running stream deck with administrative privileges in Windows. :) After I posted my issue here, I telephoned Elgato Support. They were extremely helpful and walked me through this! They had me logout of the Stream Deck software as it is always running in the background: Look in the Windows System Tray - lower right side near time/date, click on the small white upward arrow, right-click on the small Stream Deck icon, select "Quit Stream Deck". Next, re-login to Stream Deck as administrator: right-click the Stream Deck desktop icon, select "Run as administrator"). AND PRESTO, IT WORKS!! My Stream Deck is now working perfectly in Sierra Chart! Apparently, the NinjaTrader platform does not require Stream Deck to "Run as administrator", but Sierra Chart does require "Run as administrator". |
