Hi,
I am in a real muddle. I finally got the live cme feed from IB flowing. I logged onto Sierra and was thrilled to find that the charts were not 15min delayed anymore and the price action was correct with my TT Pro which is connected to my acct at Man. I put up a footprint chart and then asked the person who sent me his screen design to screen share on Discord to make sure mine looked like his. Sadly, it did not. Not even a little. Yes the price changes etc were correct but the numbers in boxes showing trades on bids and offers were absolutely not alike. He suggested I ring IB, which I did, and ask if I was getting tick data. I went thru the question with the IB tech guy and we called up a time and sales window and the prints were coming thru. My friend has thought that he heard that IB combined the orders, but IB said my settings were set to tick. The IB tech guy then said that perhaps Sierra did not support IB data. I told him the only reason I had opened an acct with IB was because Sierra had it listed as a partner on its website.

I am at a loss as to what to do. The prices coming thru are fine and correct, the bar charts etc are fine, but the footprint is NO BUENO.

Thank you, and please what do you suggest? Karen K

For the proper data for Numbers Bars you need to use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed:
Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed

The Interactive Brokers data feed is not going to provide the proper data for this.

The Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed is fully integrated when using Interactive Brokers for trading from Sierra Chart.

I am so very sorry to bother you, and I apologise that I am so stupid, but I need to ask you if I have misunderstood all along about how I get live data to support a footprint chart using your software. I thought I needed to open an acct with trading services person(IB in my case). I only opened acct w them as that's what I thought I needed to get live data. I am a CME member and do my trades thru a TTpro license through my acct at EDFMan. Now it seems from the link you have given me that all I need to do sign up for YOUR data service as per your instructions on page with title 'Data Feed Pricing'. Have I been totally stupid and not needed to open an acct w IB, but simply pay you for 1-Sierra Chart 2-for the {For 20 Real-Time Symbols: 1st connection 25.00 USD/month.}?

This would make much more sense as I couldn't see why in god's name you wouldn't just offer the entire package - the software AND live feed. If this is correct I will close the acct at IB and sign up for the $25/month as I only need a handful of symbols.

I am really sorry to keep bothering you. I am blond, and not very tech savvy as you can see...I do know how to trade tho haha. Many thanks for all your time. I sure hope that you do offer the data...

THANK YOU! Karen

To be able to use the lower cost Full CME Group (CME, CBOT, COMEX, NYMEX) with Market Depth for nonprofessional Trading accounts exchange option, you need to have a live Trading account with a supported trading service, this is needed to meet CME market data rules.

For more information, refer to the Understanding and Accessing Data From the CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX Exchanges section here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php#UnderstandingAccessingDataFromCME

IB is a Supported Trading Service, so a live trading account with them will allow you to use the lower cost CME exchanges.

You can find the list of Support Futures Trading services here:

Supported Data and Trading Services: Supported Services

And here:

It looks like your account is in order, and you should be now getting proper data for your footprint charts. Just make sure to select Edit >> Delete All Data And Download to redownload the data for each of your symbols.

In this case instead of using Interactive Brokers you can just use this service to validate that you have a trading account to access the CME data at the nonprofessional fees:
