I am not able to connect to my broker now and see my orders or execute them. See attached log file.

There is no connection problem to Gain Capital:

However, you are using an incorrect symbol or symbols. Here is an example:

Hello,

That is a seperate symbol that i use when i connect to Iqfeed
All the other symbols including the one i am trading are for gain and they are correct.

I have placed an order through my broker and can see it in the brokers software (oec trader) but i cannot see it in sierra even though i am connected to gain. Please see attached.

I am requesting telephone support. Let me know the process so that i can get this resolved asap.

We see everything is configured correctly.

Try submitting a Buy Limit order below the market in Sierra Chart for the same symbol and see if it is accepted.

If not, provide the line in the Trade >> Trade Service Log which shows the error message.

1.Attempted entering an order in the Yen .
2.Order status is “order is sent” in sierra chart Orders and Positions Window.
3.Log displays non responsive order.
4.About 3-5 min later the order disappeared from sierra chart Orders and Positions Window.

OK this is unusual. It appears as though the Gain Capital server is having a problem.

I can see the existing orders now in Sierra chart. so they fixed that.
However, existing orders cannot be updated through sierra chart.

The log says:

The time in force i have in Sierra is GTC and the existing order is also GTC.
So Im not sure why this is giving an error.

There is not anything we can do to help with this.

But one thing to check is the Time in Force of the order in Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Orders and see if it is also Good till canceled there.

If not, then the execution report from the OEC server did not provide the time in force field.

The broker confirmed that my orders are good till cancelled but sierra chart is showing good till date and time.

This is because the OEC FIX server is indicating those orders are Good till Date-Time. We have verified this now.

So this is something that they need to resolve on their side. In any case there is not any way to immediately change this. It is certainly not anything that we have control over.

What problem are you currently having with OCO orders?

We are not aware of any outstanding issues with those types of orders.

Are you still seeing a problem where orders which are good till canceled show up in the Orders tab as good till date time?

We cannot reproduce the problem and Gain Capital cannot either. We can let them know again when there is another incident.

Hello,

After Gain restarted their Fix servers, i was able to see my orders in sierra chart but I could not modify them. I have to use the brokers OEC software to modify my existing orders.

There are 2 columns. The Time in Force column which says "Good till Date Time" and another column called "Good till Date Time" that has the future date value of "9998-12-31:00:00:00" This future date probably represents a dummy date for GTC orders.

It seems that this dummy value is giving the Gain servers problems because the message log says :

OK Gain Capital also tested this and cannot duplicate the problem, so we think it is just a problem with those orders which existed at the time of the server restart.

Actually we think we know how to patch the problem now that we are aware of the particular Good till Date-Time the server is sending.

We could easily use a rule that if it is more than 10 years in advance, it is just considered good till canceled.
