Hello,
I am having consistent issues with a sierra to rithmic connection. It seems less of a connection issue and more just general glitches. For example I'll have a stable connection and then once I get filled I'll either lose connection or when the trade gets filled or closed it takes 30 seconds for it to show closed in the dom after price has gone through the level. Just wondering if you have any suggestions.

Hello,
I updated to most recent version. Just took a trade and the sierra dom connected to rithmic is still laggging when closing out orders. In this specific instance the profit target was hit, the trade closes out but the stop sits in dom for like 30 seconds.

Yes, I only have the dom(no charts) connected to Rithmic but the dom is still recieving data. Price isn't freezing up on the dom as far as I can tell, just the orders.

Therefore, this indicates the Rithmic system is slow to send a LineUpdate indicating the status of the order.

At the time you see this problem what happens when you select Trade >> Refresh Trade Data from Service. Is the order then marked as Canceled?

I haven't tried this but the broader issue is it spans across all my copies of sierra. The one connected to Rithmic, the copy connected to interactive brokers and the one connected to Iq feed. I just started another thread about DTN iq connection issues a few days ago and I've been dealing with them directly to solve that specific issue(with no luck) but if I'm having daily disconnects on three different copies of sierra connected to three different entities I can only assume its a seirra issue. As I've said before my internet seems fine, I can browse, stream etc. Right now IB and Dtn are losing connection every other minute.

Network connection issues are very unlikely to be related to the software which is having the connection issue and definitely could not be with Sierra Chart itself. It must be an external problem.

It does appear that the Rithmic problem is a network communication issue.

In the case of Rithmic, IQ Feed and Interactive Brokers, Sierra Chart does not connect directly to any of those servers. So our ability to understand exactly what the problem is, is impossible.

What does external problem mean? Can you tell from the message log what the problem is? What do you mean network communication issue, how can I solve this? I'm paying for sierra software and I can't use it. I would really appreciate it if you helped me solve this issue instead of saying it's impossible to understand. Would having a sierra data feed resolve it? What is the next step to figure this out? Right now iqfeed can't stay connected for more than a few seconds.

An external problem can be a lot of things.

At the time you notice this issue with Rithmic, provide a copy of the Message Log so we can see if there is some message from Rithmic indicating the problem. Here are instructions:

Do you have access to another computer? The very first step is to use a different computer and make sure you have a hardwired connection to the Internet. And make sure that all firewall software is fully removed from that system. The Windows firewall can remain.

Computer problems are very complex, and it is not within the scope of our support to help with them. In the cases that we do, we will recommend removing firewall and antivirus software from a system. We will not struggle trying to make those things work. When users contact us for help, we are going to give instructions to fully remove them from a system.

Another thing to do is to replace the network adapter on the computer and replace the modem used to connect to the ISP. And if you are using a router replace that. And once again make sure everything is hardwired. All of these devices must be considered suspect and you should try replacing them out one by one. And also replace the network cables.

If you not have another computer, the very first step with the computer you have, is to delete the operating system you have installed and then reinstall it and do not use any firewall or antivirus software other than the Windows firewall.

So you can see, there is quite a lot of work to solve a problem like this. We have given you ideas but the responsibility to carry these tasks forward is on your side and this is not an easy thing to do.

I'm hard wired, I don't have any anti virus or firewall, I've replaced the router/modem twice in the last couple of weeks because of this issue. Obviously if the issue is with my computer I don't expect sierra to fix it, this is first time you mentioned that the issue is my computer. I'm not currently connected to Rithmic or IB, the issue is solely with iqfeed, it can only stat connected for a few seconds. Here is the message log

So the problem is that the IQ Feed software is not connecting to its own server. Why? There can be all kinds of problems including a problem on your computer.

We recommend installing another copy of Sierra Chart on your system and setting it to use the SC Forex Data service and see if you have any connection problems:

Ok, I'll try it. Again, I'm having connection issues with both Interactive brokers and Rithmic on top of iqfeed so doesn't that eliminate iq feed server as the culprit? Do you think it could be my internet provider even though I can still browse web pages?

Here is what Iqfeed had to say.
We have been monitoring your IP for about 10 minutes now. We have some concern that you are seeing some connectivity issues with your Cable Modem or Wireless router. We did see one of those two spike to 2800 Milliseconds roundtrip for about 5 seconds during this time. That would 100% create a disconnect.

Yes. We do not think it is the IQ Feed server.

Yes. Absolutely because they could be degrading communication on ports other than 443 and 80.
