Hi Support, Again I am unable to connect. I am seeing the same Connecting message but no connection. I've refreshed my Non-Pro Account but still no connection. Any thoughts? Many thanks. |

Rithmic is having issues with their Chicago-area servers. Others have stated that connecting to a non-Chicago area server has worked for them (Sao Paulo in particular was mentioned as working)

Hi John, I have tried that but still no connection although NinjaTrader is connecting? Is it possibly a Sierra / Rithmic issue rather than general as I know there have been disagreements? Many thanks |

It could be specific to Sierra Chart and Rithmic, although we do not know. Rithmic does use a special connection for Sierra Chart. But we have had reports that this issue was resolved in the afternoon of March 25, 2025. Are you still having an issue today? I have a similar issue since today. Permission denied for historical download. I changed no settings regarding the data feed. Seems to be a rithmic problem..

I don't think its is simply Rithmic as I'm still trading on NinjaTrader and another platform without issues. That said I have a friend who is Trading Sierra + Rithmic today. I'm wondering if John has a way of deleting any saved settings or defaulting the adapter in some way before re-entering login credentials - as simply deleting them changed nothing. I've been with Sierra for I think over 14 years and spent thousands of hours working with ACSIL but this Rithmic saga is a nightmare. My subscription renews in 2 days and I'm thinking many will jump ship with these continuing issues. It's unfortunate that everyone blames everyone else and the parties cannot have a grown up discussion to create a more robust integration. I'm sure Teton is great but it's of no value to those who trade their own accounts - and prop. Fingers crossed this gets fixed quickly but don't hold your breath. **** As an aside. Going to another version I have installed v2550 64 Bit; I cannot even enter any data beyond selecting "Rithmic Direct DTC (trading)." That version wont even offer me a server list. **** All the best. The interface that is used between Sierra Chart and Rithmic is owned and maintained by Rithmic. We have informed them of the issues with it, but they have not fixed it. **** As an aside. Going to another version I have installed v2550 64 Bit; I cannot even enter any data beyond selecting "Rithmic Direct DTC (trading)." That version wont even offer me a server list. ****
You should get the server list, but you need to exit from the Data/Trade Service Settings and then open it again to get the list. But as to not seeing the entries for the Username/Password for data, update to the latest release, as it sounds like you updated to a version where these had been removed - they were then added back. The current version (v 2747) has the fields in them, and this is the version you should be on. 9 trading days have gone by and still I cannot use Sierra with APEX / Rithmic. All credentials are correct and I can login with 2 other Programs including NinjaTrader. Please. What is going wrong? Have Rithmic and Sierra finally stopped talking to one another? Please note I have followed all instructions and re-entered by hand 'not copied' the username and pwd multiple times but no change. I've just renewed Denali data to see if anything had changed but 9 days on its still not connecting. *** Apologies started new thread but this is the content *** |

As we stated in the other thread. That error comes from Rithmic. The interface between Sierra Chart and Rithmic is owned and updated by Rithmic. Sierra Chart does not have a way to fix this. We wish we could, as Rithmic has been unwilling to do so, and it creates questions on our board about why this is occurring.
