Hi, I have the attached setting for my Spreadsheet trading.
I have rules set for Buy & Sell Entry (No rules for Buy & Sell Exits).. which I am managing thru Trailing Stop Losses in my Range based chart.
What's happening is , say I have a Buy Entry , position is +1 , and my SL is trailing, now if there's an opposing Sell entry rule triggered, the existing Long position is flattened but the new Short position is NOT opened.
I tried putting all possible settings On regd Reversals, but still not happening , pls can you advice urgently .

Also, can you pls advice how I can put a dynamic SL (lets say 50 or 100 ticks) depending on some condition ? At the moment, I am putting a fixed SL in my chart trading window.

Thanks

Everything looks good from your setup, so we are not sure why you would be having an issue.

When the reversal does not occur, look in your "Trade >> Trade Service Log" and see if there is anything in there stating what may have occurred. It should be the last line in the log. Post that line (or whatever parts of the log appear to be related) to this thread for us to take a look.

I do see some msgs like the following showing insufficient liquidity sometimes, not particularly during that time. But I dont see why it would affect, as a new position would be opened after closing an existing one.

Trading message from IB: Order rejected - reason:The Available Funds in your Commodities segment are insufficient to cover the change in the margin <br>requirements in your Commodities segment should this order execute. In order to obtain the desired position, | 2025-02-26 00:32:04.709 *

UPDATE: I do see its happening today once, so it might be the Margin issue.

Can you pls let me know regd my other query : "Also, can you pls advice how I can put a dynamic SL (lets say 50 or 100 ticks) depending on some condition ? At the moment, I am putting a fixed SL in my chart trading window "

You can either do this by entering the Stop and Target within the Spreadsheet System for Trading. The I/J columns for "Attached Order Target Offset" and "Attached Order Stop Offset" are the items to enter the values you want. But, you can only use a standard Limit and Stop in this case - you cannot use any of the other order types for the Target and/or Stop.

Another option would be to use the "Trade Management by Study" to have it move your Stop to where you want it. Refer to the following:
Attached Orders: Study Controlled Targets and Stops
