Hello, is there a way to add an offset to a stop entry?

Yes, thank you. If I want to place a buy stop order in the DOM using the buy button, I don't want it to be at the current price, but rather, for example, 3 ticks above it. Can I set this offset somehow?

There is not a way to do this when using the "Buy" button the Trade Window. But then again, if you are entering a "Stop" order through the Trade Window, then you need to specify the price at which you want to place the stop. There are keyboard shortcuts for "Stop" and "Stop Limit" with an offset from the Bid or Ask price with an offset of 1, 2, or 3 ticks. And you can always use either the DOM or a right-mouse option to place a Stop at the level you want. Sorry, I have one more question: What do I have to do besides setting "Time in Force" in the DOM so that the order is sent at a certain time? The time information matches.

Just make sure your Sierra Chart software is running, as that particular option is going to keep the order on your local system until it is actually sent to the exchange.

Hi, because of my mediocre English skills I have problems getting an overview of specific support topics, hence this question: Where can I find information on the topic of automated trading regarding the point "Order entry at a specific time"?

There is not a specific topic in our documentation related to what you are asking, as "Automated Trading" covers a wide range of topics in itself. We really need to know what you are wanting to do and what automated trading tool you are using.

Yes, okay, I'll try to explain it briefly: I want to place three bracket orders of three different futures with respective entry offsets short and long at the same time (see photo). I have placed the entries on keyboard shortcuts. "Time in Force / Send order at time" doesn't work for me at all, regardless of whether I'm in real or simulate trading mode. thank you and regards Wolfgang |

With automated trading, you would need to build into your system the specific time you want to send an order. How you do this depends on what automated system you are using. With regards to the Time in Force, what exactly occurs when you try to use it? It should work in either case. Are you setting this Time in Force for the Parent order or just the child orders? Refer to the following: Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main >> TimeInForce (Time in Force): Attached Orders: Time In Force For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

What "shortcuts" exactly? What are you doing, in what order?

I have created "Buy Stop Ask + 2 Ticks" (on B) and "Sell Stop Bid - 2 Ticks" (on S) via Global Settings > Customize Keyboard Shortcuts > Trading Keyboard Shortcuts. "Send order in Time" probably doesn't work this way. Is there another option? The bracket order consists of a limit order and a stop order with a "Move to Breakeven" setting. Where are you setting the "Time in Force"? Is this on the Parent Order or on the Attached Orders?

I have only set time in force for the parent order in the DOM. I don't know how and where I could set it for the child order.

When you set the "Time in Force" on the parent order to be "Send Order At Time" and then enter the order as a "Buy Stop Ask + 2 Ticks", then the orders will show on the chart, but the parent order is going to have the word "Held" on the position line. That order is being held until the Time entered in the Time in Force passes and then the order will be sent to the market as a Buy Stop at that price. Depending on where the market is at the time the order is sent, will determine if the order is filled immediately or stays as a Stop order waiting for the price to move up to it. If this is what you are seeing then this is the correct functioning. If it is not what you are seeing, then we need to know what you are seeing. Yes, thank you, that works. The problem is that the market price can change again during the "hold" period, but the stop price of the order cannot. I think I have to place the order as close to the planned entry as possible.
