Hi, I created a custom audio alert for trading system (subgraph crossover). I looked up the instructions on Sierra help files and placed the audio .wmv file in the correct folder (see attached). However, in the Sierra Alert drop down menu, all that shows up are "Alert 1, Alert 2, etc. up to Alert 200. However, the .wmv files I placed there do not show up in the dropdown list - as a matter of fact, none of the audio files in the Sierra Alert windows folder show up in the "Alert Sound" drop down list. Not sure what I am doing incorrectly - but can you help me get these custom audio files to the correct folder and tell me how to get them into the "Alert Sound" dropdown list. Thank you. Kind regards, |

You have the sound file in the correct location. You are not thinking of the Alerts in the way they are setup. The "Alert Sound" you select in the Alerts tabs is an Alert Number (Alert1 through Alert200). You assign an actual sound to the alert number in the General Settings. Refer to the following: General Settings Window: Configuring Alert Number Instructions For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Thank you for your answer/help. So, I made a .wav file and placed it in the correct folder (prior support ticket). I then assigned 'Alert 1' to that .wav file AND I changed the name of the alert (via the instructions link you provided. I then turned up the sensitivity of the trading system settings and I am getting signals but no audio alert. I monitor a number of systems in real time on 6 monitors so the audio alert is pretty important. I included screen shots of the General Alert settings as well as the settings for for trading system. Hopefully that will provide you with the necessary information to tell me what I am doing wrong and how to properly set it up to generate the audio signals. Once I have the proper steps for one, I will be able to do it for the others. Thank you for your help. Kind regards, Dana Shute LtCDR USN(Ret) |

You do not have an Alert Condition defined, therefore you are not getting an alert. In this case, we assume you want the alert to occur when you get a valid condition for this "Trading System - Study Subgraph Crossover" study. In which case, you would enter the following for the Alert Condition: =OR(SG1, SG2) In this case, since the alert is set on this particular study, you do not need to reference the ID of the study.
