Hotkeys Inconsistent Order Quantity

Hi, I'm using keyboard shortcuts to enter positions. I've noticed that the order quantities are inconsistent. I have not set hotkeys for order quantities and only use the trade window for assigning quantities. For example, I entered a long position earlier today via the hotkeys and the order quantity in the trade window was set to 1 lot. I used the same hotkey to reenter a few minutes later but I noticed the order quantity was a 2 lot. I never changed the order quantity and in the attached video you can see that the order quantity in the trade window is still a 1 lot. Can someone explain how and why this is happening especially given that I only use the trade window to alter quantities. Thanks. |

Our best guess is that the keyboard shortcut is being done twice. Either due to the way you select it (i.e. you are hitting it twice by accident) or due to keyboard repeat timing, or something else. Check your Trade Activity Log and look at the Order(s) that created that position. See if there is a single order for a quantity of 2 or if there are 2 orders each with a quantity of 1. If there are two orders (which there should be, given your setup) then this is something about how the orders are being entered as we noted above. Hi, I've attached a screenshot of the trade log(attachment 1) and the order action source(attachment 2) You can see that every order is a 1 lot. The final order was a 2lot as a single order not multiple entries. Looking at the Order Action Source, the second screenshot, you can see that starting quantity was 0 and it was updated to 2. Per the trades list, the trade was placed at 15:09:05. When cross referencing this to the Order Action Source, it confirms that there weren't two orders placed but only one. The recording shows that I never changed the order quantity, yet the position was doubled. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-06-25 14:32:33

On your Trade Activity Log please set the "Trade Activity Type" to "All Activity" and select the "Apply All" button. Select the "Trade Activity" page on the Trade Activity Log and select "File >> Export". Save that file where you want. Then attach that file to this thread by following these instructions: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#AttachFile For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

It is impossible for us to analyze this, with the way it is being presented. There is a standard procedure to go through and it is documented here: Trade Activity Log Analysis: Support Assisted Trade Activity Log Analysis We also need you to enable order confirmations: Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main/C >> Menu >> Order Confirmations (chart specific) When you submit an order make sure the quantity you see on the confirmation matches the quantity you have set on the associated Trade Window for the Chart or Trade DOM you are trading from: Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Opening Trade Window for Chart or Trade DOM ( Make sure you are looking at the quantity on the associated trade window) There should never be a problem with a quantity mismatch. The quantity could be changing, with the external trading service but that is something separate. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
