SC could not send order to IB for MSFT

The only way SC is able to pull the charts for MSFT on IB is to use the symbol MSFT-STK-SMART[NASDAQ. However when I tested to send a buy order, the order was not sent to IB. On SC, it shows order was sent but my IB TWS doesn't show the order. When I cancelled the order on SC, it says pending cancel. I had to close SC and reload it for the pending cancel message to go away.

The problem is why SC is not sending the order to IB. Do you have any suggestions? A few stocks seem to have this issue with SC and IB.

I had the same problem with trading forex yesterday. The only way it worked for is if I first placed a limit order on TWS and then used the chart trader on Sierra Charts to change limit price.

The order is most definitely getting sent to Interactive Brokers. There could be no other possibility.

The problem is Interactive Brokers TWS is not responding to it.

Contact interactive Brokers at this address about the problem:
api@interactivebrokers.com

They will need to see your TWS log file.

I had to close SC and reload it for the pending cancel message to go away.
There is never a need to do this, in this particular case. All you need to do is select Trade >>Refresh Trade Data From Service.

FYI, I have not been able to contact IB about this issue because I am afraid they might talk about how Sierrachart works and other programming stuff. However, I finally discovered a way to work around this issue using the Trade and Current Quote Symbol option in Chart Settings. I entered MSFT here and it is now sending the order to IB. For the intraday chart, I still use the symbol MSFT-STK-SMART[NASDAQ. I don't know how this thing works but somehow this seems to be the solution to this long time issue.

I hope this helps or gives an idea to others experiencing the same issue.

Good that this works. Thank you for the information. It shows that the inconsistency there is with the IB interface. The same symbol should work properly for both market data and trading.
