Multiple Account Alerts Bug?

I have a separate instance of SC that is not filtering the Trade Order Alert Trade Accounts Filter properly. I have re-typed, copy paste from notepad, multiple times now & I can't figure out why all the other copies I'm running work but this one doesn't.

The only thing I can think of is multiple special characters?
This instance account format is xx-xx-xx-xx are the extra hyphens causing an issue?

Account length is 16 digits, all separated by a comma, settings are the same as all my other copies of SC that work. I did update to 2544 this morning so assuming it's related.

We are not sure what filter you are referring to.

If you are referring to the "Trade >> Trade Orders Window >> Edit >> Set Trade Account Filter", then are you able to see the trade account listed in the "Available Trade Accounts" line? If you select it there, it should fill into the "Set Trade Account Filter" - does this work?

Sorry I'm referring to the audio alert/trade filter to silence a ton of alerts going off on a trade using multiple accounts.

Global Settings > General Trade Settings > "Trade Order Alert Trade Accounts Filter"

Where you have to manually type in the accounts xx-xx-xx-xx000010,xx-xx-xx-xx000011,xx-xx-xx-xx000013 etc.

Thanks for letting us know which filter you were referencing.

What exactly is occurring in this case, are they not filtering the alerts, or is there an issue when you enter the information into the field?

In either case, please repeat a test to try the particular issue and then copy and paste your Message Log to this thread for us to see if there is anything in there that will let us know what is occurring. Follow these instructions to get us your Message Log:

Log sent.

I am running multiple separate instances of SC. All configured the same way. Multiple accounts filtered with -> Global Settings -> General Trade -> "Trade Order Alert Accounts Filter" so only one alert per instance is triggered on a trade.

For some reason this one copy is NOT filtering the accounts. I can enter without error, have restarted SC, entered accounts by typing and copying pasting same result, instead of ONE alert I hear 20.

See original message maybe the account names are too long? Too many special characters with the number of hyphens?

instead of ONE alert I hear 20.
Go to Window >> Alert Manager >> Log. Do you see 20 alert lines in here when these occur?

Provide one of the lines.

I see no lines in the alert manager, however I checked in the other separate instance of SC & I see ALL the trade alerts. Odd here is the setup for clarity.

FYI I am using the Simple System Trading Copier, but thinking through this I am not sure the issue entirely lies with him (see below.)

C:\SC_Main --> TX Study

C:\SC_Trade_01 --> RX Study
Trade Window -> Settings -> Order Allocation To Trade Accounts -> Allocation Accounts -> Selected Accounts xx-xx-01, xx-xx-02, xx-xx-03, etc
Global -> General Trade Settings -> Notifications -> Trade Order Alert Trade Accounts Filter -> Type in xx-xx-01, xx-xx-02, xx-xx-03, etc
Alert Manager > Log -> EMPTY No Alerts
Trade Activity Log -> All trades across both instances xx-xx-01 series & xx-xx-AA series

C:\SC_Trade_02 --> RX Study
Trade Window -> Settings -> Order Allocation To Trade Accounts -> Allocation Accounts -> Selected Accounts xx-xx-AA, xx-xx-BB, xx-xx-CC, etc
Global -> General Trade Settings -> Notifications -> Trade Order Alert Trade Accounts Filter -> Type in xx-xx-AA, xx-xx-BB, xx-xx-CC, etc
Alert Manager > Log -> ALL the Alerts for trades in xx-xx-01 etc AND xx-xx-AA etc.
Trade Activity Log -> All trades across both instances xx-xx-01 series & xx-xx-AA series

SC Instances 01 & 02 are using the same Data/Trade Service -> Account/Trading Username so technically each instance 01 & 02 can see all xx01, xx02, etc and xxAA, xxBB etc accounts.
BUT with the Trade Window and Alert Filters each instance should only be processing trades for the accounts selected.

Taking this one step further.

I added ALL the accounts in C:\SC_Trade_01 -> xx-xx-01 etc to the C:\SC_Trade_02 Instance (where the alerts are being generated but NOT the trades).

C:\SC_Trade_02 --> RX Study
Global -> General Trade Settings -> Notifications -> Trade Order Alert Trade Accounts Filter -> Type in xx-xx-AA, xx-xx-BB, xx-xx-CC, etc AND xx-xx-01, xx-xx-02, xx-xx-03, etc

This does fix all the extra notifications sounds / trade alerts but something still appears off. The trades are being generated from two separate copies of Sierra Chart but the Alerts are coming from a single copy with the accounts filtered.

Provide us one of the alert lines from this instance. You can copy it through the Edit menu and paste it here.

You are over complicating this for us.

The only thing we are concerned is whether you are getting a trading related alert for a particular trading account, when that account is set to be filtered for alerts, within that specific instance. Nothing else is relevant to us.

Take one particular alert line in that screenshot, and the account for it, is that account included in this setting in that instance:

Really sorry I might be over complicating this myself & not understanding. See if this simplifies it, keep in mind separate SC installations same broker.

Instance 1 - Trade Accounts IB_01, IB_02

Instance 2 - Trade Accounts IB_03, IB_04

I am getting Trade Notifications Alerts in Instance 2 from trades generated in Instance 1. Do I have to add ALL the accounts I want to filter trade notifications for across both installations (I am NOT doing this, I'm only filtering the accounts traded in that instance)?

This seems necessary in case of sub-instances NOT two separate copies (hence is my confusion).

Yes you do have add all of the trading accounts in all of the instances. A sub instance will receive updates for any account.
