Hello,
I am trying to use my paper account on IB to trade. I entered a trade and the order appeared on the chart but there was no profit/loss. The trade shows up on IB trade log as cancelled. I reached out to IB and they said the error is not on their side. I know IB is not a favorite of SC but I ask please help me find a solution.

I have copied the SC Message Log, Trade Service Log, and my chat transcript with IB below.

(Logs and transcript removed as they are not relevant and unnecessarily burdensome)

This is a Sierra Chart message:
InternalOrderID: 402. | 2023-07-18 09:41:04.255 MNQ-202309-CME-USD[M] 1 Min 30 Sec #4 | User order entry | Unable to Flatten/Reverse. Position does not exist. Working non-market orders will be canceled | Symbol: MNQ-

So it makes sense that IB would not know anything about this.

But what you should be asking is why was the order immediately canceled based on the following line with their support:
"Michael G: It looks like it was placed and then canceled."

Given the above, it sounds like Sierra Chart did not receive the updates from IB regarding the cancellation of the order.

I entered a trade and the order appeared on the chart but there was no profit/loss.
Where are you looking at the Profit/Loss? And what specific value?

You also have a huge amount of errors like this:

MNQ-202309-CME-USD [CB][M] Weekly #2 | Error while getting daily settlement price with date 0 from file. C:\SierraChart\Data\MNQ-201706-CME-USD.dly. Error: No Data for read. End of file. | 2023-07-17 08:11:17.709

Ok thank you for letting me know.

I was looking at the trade window. The order lines appeared on the chart but the P/L box in the trade window stayed 0.

You also have a huge amount of errors like this:
I looked through the directions to fix this error. I changed the Load Data Limiting method to "Use Date Range". Then I looked up the creation date of Micro NQ which I found to be around June 2021. I set the "Date Range In File From" to 2021-08-01 which I thought would limit the look back period to when there was actual data. However, when I changed time frame, the "Date Range In File From" changed itself to 2022-06-15 and the error appeared again in the log.

Changing the Date Range in the file will not work in this case, as it is a Futures contract, and you are using a Continuous Futures Contract feature.

The Date Range in File just shows the range for the primary symbol for the chart. Setting it back will only have it jump forward, as you saw, to when the contract started.

Since you have your settings for "Use Date Range", you need to enter a beginning date range of 2021-08-01. You can leave the Date Range To blank to get the current data.

The order lines appeared on the chart but the P/L box in the trade window stayed 0.
Therefore, there is no Position Average Price. Refer to:
