Recently I find that when you open up SierraCharts after not having done so for a long time... or when you open up chartbooks on a fresh install of Sierra Chart.... the intraday charts get stuck on Downloading Continuous Contract Data.... I leave the program open for many hours sometimes it will load some times it wont....

See the attached log. I didn't notice this problem a year ago when I was using Sierra... but in the last 5 months... it's been a real problem.

I've also attached my chartbookgroup for further investigation. You can also see a screenshot of what I see

This is not a problem with Sierra Chart. It is simply a case of a massive amount of historical data that has to be downloaded especially if you have set the Intraday Data Storage Time Unit 1 Tick, and have slow Internet connectivity.

To solve the problem, refer to:
Historical Intraday Data (Missing Data / Download Errors / Viewing More Data): Improving Historical Intraday Data Downloading Performance

We recommend setting the Intraday Data Storage Time Unit to 2 Seconds at a minimum. Re-download the data.
