Hi guys, I would like to know how it could be fixed in Sierra Chart asynchronous price movement in two charts with the same settings for the same symbol. I have removed all indicators, and studies have updated intervals set to 500ms but while the price is moving you can see that one chart is steady and another up/down ticks and vice versa. It is clearly visible to the eye, that the price in each chart is ticking asynchronously. How is it even possible? I believe that if you are using lots of custom studies etc. the CPU performance gets really loaded and it could be related to it but I have a very powerful gaming laptop with an i9 Intel processor and 64GB of RAM, an independent graphics card, etc. and with your high tech platform, I wouldn't expect that to be happening at all. As my trading strategy is based on scalping I would like to provide advice how it could be fixed ;-) Best Regards & Many Thanks! David |

If the charts are the same symbol, then the most likely culprit would be the Chart >> Chart Settings >> Display >> Chart Update Interval. It sounds like one of the charts may be set different from the other. If these are different symbols, then you need to keep in mind that Sierra Chart does not update the chart unless there is a trade, so one symbol may have a lot of trading occurring and it is updating at the "Chart Update Interval", but the other chart with low trading is waiting for the trades to occur before it updates. Hi John, many thanks for your answer but I am not a stupid person, fortunately :-) Have an IT and development background and know where to set up general chart update intervals and have mentioned in my previous post that I have set all correctly to 500 milliseconds on both charts with the same symbol. So please discuss it with your development team and ask them or even try to replicate the problem on your platforms... I can even share a video somewhere so you can have a look at exactly what I mean..but I am paying for the platform, scalping the markets, and need very accurate data. Thanks! David |

Reduce the Chart Update Interval to 100 ms specifically for these charts: Chart Settings: Chart Update Interval in Milliseconds (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Display >> Chart Update Interval menu) To improve overall performance, refer to: Chart Trading and the Chart DOM: Improving Performance Of Chart / Trade DOM The solution is on your side.
