Using v2417 and v2420, when I try to "Customize" the Control Bar Button for Trade Window Config (for attached order setup), it now freezes/locks SC completely and does not work. I have to close SC down via Windows Task Manager and then re-open. Was working fine previously. I am using the buttons to control Trade DOM. |

Please give us the exact steps you are following that causes the lockup so we can try and reproduce.

Customize Control Bars Control Bar 1 Control Bar Commands Trade Window Configurations Menu Add Trade Window Configuration 1 In Bar Commands, Highlight Trade Window Configuration 1 Select "Customize" button at bottom of window. Normally this gives a drop down menu to then select the buy/sell/attached order quantities and targets for Trade Window. Currently I get no drop down menu and whole SC locks up / freezes on selecting the Customize button. |

We are not able to reproduce this following your steps. We even removed all Trade Configuration files to ensure that it was not related to not having any files. The only thing we can think is that you may have a corrupted trade configuration file. Please go to your Data folder (located under your main Sierra Chart installation folder) and move the .twconfig files out of that folder and put them in a safe folder to access later. Then try again and see if selecting Customize still locks up your system or just gives you a blank list. If it gives you a blank list, then you would need to figure out which configuration file is the problem by moving them back, one by one, to the Data folder and trying the process each time until you lock up. Then you will know which file to delete and reproduce. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

1. Removed and deleted twsconfig files / replaced them with new files. No change. Main instance freezes/locks and no blank list (locks when pressing "Customize"). 2. Tried setting up Control Button on a sub instance - and all works fine. Drop down list and select twsconfig file all good. Copied these twsconfig files over to replace main instance, but still no change. 3. Tried to then update SC to latest pre-release to have clean files and it gave me an error "SierraChartStudies_64.dll cannot be updated, process is still in use". Not sure if this is related. I checked the main instance v sub instance and they had different dated files for the 64.dll. So updated them manually to both have latest file version and tried download again but same error message. So works in sub instance but not main. And now I seem to have a 64.dll error. Any ideas? (I should also say the existing Control Buttons in main instance are working correctly, I just cannot change them now to update the settings) |

With regards to the "SierraChartStudies_64.dll", the error you mention implies that Sierra Chart was running when you tried to update. You can not do this, you have to exit from Sierra Chart to do the update, including any sub-instances. Please try the update again, but be sure you are not running any Sierra Chart software. With regards to your control bar buttons, please attach your Sierra4.config file to this post. The file will be in your main Sierra Chart installation folder (typically C:\SierraChart). This file contains your Control Bar settings, and it sounds like this may be corrupted. You could also try copying the file from the Sub-Instance to the main instance to see if that resolves your issue. Just keep in mind that this file contains all your settings, so you would be making your Main Instance look like your Sub-Instance (which may, or may not, be an issue, depending on how you are setup). Re updates - I understand, obviously this is not the first time I have updated SC so will check to see why it seems to be "still running" when the update process is supposed to have closed it. Config file attached for main instance (as you say I don't want to over-write the different configurations). |

Main instance freezes/locks and no blank list (locks when pressing "Customize"). OK, so following your guidance: 1. On main instance - when I select Customize, I get same freeze. If I follow reference above (last post), by then pressing ESC key SC unfreezes and the drop down menu does then appear - but always on a different chartbook to the one that is currently visual. In other words I have to manually select a different chartbook to be able to actually see/find the drop down menu. More curiously, I then find the drop down menu will only appear if I have this one specific chartbook open. If it is closed, then when I press ESC I cannot see the drop down menu on any of the open chartbooks. If I select Customize when directly viewing this one specific chartbook, then I don't need the ESC key and drop down menu appears straight away. 2. Sub instance does not need ESC key and drop down menu appears on the current visual chartbook (which is similar but not same as main instance chartbook). Drop down menu will appear on any of the open chartbooks, and without ESC key. So it seems I can now update settings, just seems an odd process to have to remember for main instance. And of course, if I delete this one specific chartbook for some reason, not sure how it would then work? |

Same issue as before. Now on v2427 but main instance still does not allow me to Customize the control bar button (Trade Window Config). The work arounds above no longer work for some reason (pressing ESC or using a different chartbook to get drop down menu). Pressing ESC just clears the control bar menu from the the screen. Sub instance is still fine and works normally. |

FYI - all now working correctly in the latest release and Customize shows the new style menu/window format.

but main instance still does not allow me to Customize the control bar button (Trade Window Config). This is a Microsoft Windows problem. all now working correctly in the latest release and Customize shows the new style menu/window format. This is because we removed the evil Microsoft dialog, and replaced it with our own window interface.
