The only thing we can point out is that you have selected a Crossing option for the "Entire Bar", so either the High or Low of the bar needs to cross the line for the alert to become true.

Also, make sure you are checking your Alert Manager to see if the alert is activating and you are just not getting an audible alert.

Yes, and it doesnt work.
the price crosses the level and nothing happens, no beep, no flash, nothing.

in the alert manager there is nothing showing there, no alerts.

So what is the correct way to set an alert on a chart drawing like a horizontal ray?

I remember it used to work, i used it months ago and it worked.

I have sent you a screenshot in the previous message

Thank you

If you are only interested in the Last price crossing the ray, then you should select "Last" for the Study Subgraph and not "Entire Bar". Try it with the Last and see if it works for you.

Please start with a very simple setup such as Last and Above for the condition. Make sure the rest of the settings are set properly for the Drawing Alert window then start with the Ray above the Last price and move the Ray below the last price (now the Last is Above the drawing) and check the Alert Manager to see if you get any information.

Hi John

i followed your suggestion and this seems to trigger the alert, thanks.
what doesn't work is the following:
1- the alert sound is the same, even if i set the alert sound to Alert 1, Alert 2, Alert 3, Alert 4....etc, the sound is always the same one.
2- when i tick the "Alert once per bar" and tick the "Blink once per bar", what is supposed to blink? because i dont see any blinking...
3- when the alert triggers and opens up the alert manager window, i do not receive an email, i get this error " Alert message error: your email provider is blocking alert emails, contact sierra chart support "

Waiting for your help

Thank you

The good news is that your alerts are working. You just need to make sure you setup the alert as you need it to be and do some trials to make sure it is going to work as you expect.

1. You configure the alert sounds on the General Settings window. Refer to the following:
General Settings Window: Sound File (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Alerts)

2. When the alert goes "True" then the drawing will "blink" (change color between darker and lighter). When you select to "Blink Once" then you may not notice the blink. If you want to see it, uncheck that option so it will blink multiple times.

3. There is nothing we can do about this. You would have to use a different email provider to get the alerts. We recommend Gmail, as we have not had issues with their service.
