Out of order timestamps although imported scid file correct

Hi,

I have been successfully importing a self-generated scid file since December last year, however, I now started getting an "out of order timestamp" issue. The message is:

DAX-LONGSHORT 1 Min #1 | Out of order timestamps detected. Chart tool drawings and some chart studies may not function properly. Prior Date Time: 2022-07-11 08:53:00. Next Bar Date Time: 2022-07-11 08:46:00. Filename: DAX-LONGSHORT.scid | 2022-07-11 08:53:40.074

It seems that the "Next Bar Date Time" is never incrementing. How can I solve this problem?

Thank you very much in advance!

The only possibility here, is that the timestamps are actually out of order in the Intraday data file.

Export the data and check this:

Thank you for your prompt reply!

I have already checked the scid file and it is correct. However, when I perform manual re-calculation the out-of-order timestamp (as visualized by the out-of-order timestamp study) disappear except for the latest bar. This is an excerpt of the exported bar data:

2022/7/11, 13:17:00, 0.29, 0.29, 0.29, 0.29, 1, 1, 1, 1
2022/7/11, 13:18:00, 0.29, 0.29, 0.29, 0.29, 1, 1, 1, 1
2022/7/11, 13:19:00, 0.29, 0.29, 0.29, 0.29, 1, 1, 1, 1
2022/7/11, 13:20:00, 0.29, 0.29, 0.29, 0.29, 1, 1, 1, 1
2022/7/11, 13:19:00, 0.29, 0.29, 0.29, 0.29, 1, 1, 1, 1

At 13:18, I did a recalculation and the "13:19:00" timestamp will continue repeating from then on.

FYI, I have a Intraday Data Storage Time Unit of 10 sec and I use the SC data feed.

As I wrote earlier, I did not have the problem earlier. The only thing I changed was the Intraday Data Storage Time Unit (from tick based to 10 sec).

Thank you for your help!!

Where is the real-time data coming from? The timestamps of that sounds like they are not correct.

The data is generated using a python script I wrote, which creates an entry every minute based on some scraped data. The entries are generated exactly as explained here: Intraday Data File Format

As I said, after a recalculation of the chart, all "out-of-order timestamps" disappear. Also, when I try to spot these timestamps using "Edit -> Edit Intraday Data" they are all correct, which proves that the generated scid file is correct. It is only the real-time updating of the chart in SC that does not work properly.

There must be something you are doing wrong on your side. This is definitively not a problem on the Sierra Chart side.

Dear SC support,

Your reply is not really of great help to me. I am not saying that there is a problem with SC. But as I said already a couple of times, my scid file is correct. Probably, there are one or two configurations that are not correct but I don't know where to look and check. I was hoping that you can give me at least some hints on what to check.

IMO, if you provide the feature of importing your own scid file in real-time in SC (which is a wonderful feature BTW!) then a customer can expect some degree of support for this feature that goes beyond just repeating that "something is wrong on my side".

Please give me some hints what I need to check that could help solving the problem. For instance, I changed the intraday data storage unit recently from 1tick to 10 sec. Could this create the problem?

Thanks

Based upon what you are saying, are the timestamps of written records in the Intraday data file changing?

The Date-Time value of a record must not change after it has been written.
