Market Replay not using selected date/time

I'm having some issues getting market replay to work correctly when selecting date/time further back than about 2 days.

- I use CQG through AMP for trading and the Denali data feed for data. I followed the setup instructions and all of this works fine
- the symbol F.US.MES is set to record market depth data. (Could there be an issue with the way symbols get mapped across cqg/denali?)
- replay set to all charts in chartbook.
- using a date/time within the last 2 days works fine
- using a date/time further back does not work correctly:

ex: I set market replay to start at 2022-01-03/9:30AM:
- 1 chart starts at 2022-01-18 / 18:00
- other 3 charts start at 2022-01-12 / 9:30AM

Thank you.

Do you have data in those charts for those dates that you are trying to replay where it is not working?

Also, is it just the Market Depth data that is not showing up, or is the replay not working at all?

As far as I can tell, I do have data in those charts for the days I'm trying to select.
It's everything that's not showing up.... As shown in the image, different charts go to different (incorrect) days.

For instance, I just made sure all charts have at least 40 days loaded.
Set replay to 1-4-2022 9:29AM.

My intraday footprint chart went to 1-23-2022 18:00, and my market profile went to 1-03-2022 16:59

Same basic outcome as other efforts.

It is not possible for there to be a problem with this functionality unless the data going back to the start Date-Time does not exist in the chart, or there is out of order timestamps in the chart.

The first step, is to simply scroll the chart back and not use this option:
Replaying Charts: Use Start Date-Time

And start a replay just for that one chart only and make sure everything is working as expected. Do that for other charts, you have an issue with.

That is the first step, and then you can go from there, to isolate where the issue is.

In case there is any missing data in the charts, refer to:

I followed your instructions and was eventually able to get everything working successfully.

Thank you!

Hi, I am having the same problems in using data replay. I believe now that I have to go to each chart and set the Days To Load far enough back to get the dates I want, but this is pretty inconvenient. I also don't want to have to load all that data if I want to go back a long period of time. Can the program take the Use Start Date-Time input, read the Days To Load value for each chart and load just that data? I think many people would be helped by this.

No, you do need to actually set the Chart Settings to load data far enough back to meet the requirements for replay. Use this setting:
Chart Settings: Load Data Limiting Method: Date Range >> Date Range From / To (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Data Limiting >> Load Data Limiting Method: Date Range menu)

You can also set an ending date:
Chart Settings: Load Data Limiting Method: Date Range >> Date Range From / To (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Data Limiting >> Load Data Limiting Method: Date Range menu)

So you can load for example one week only of data from years in the past.
