VBP Value lines - different from TPO chart

hello please let me know if possible , im trying to line up the TPO value area lines here from es, on the TPO study its correct, but on my chart on the left the sierra study "tpo value area lines" from the VBP study are incorrect. i have the candlestick chart study just set for day session, which is what i want but the value/POC lines are different. even tho the circled session on the TPO chart is just the day session from the 4th, you can see on the chart, the day session on the 4th is off. How can i make them match correctly without having to have my candlestick chart with the VBP study set to 24 hours? hopefully this made sense?? |

Your Value Area Lines are going to be different with different Session Times. In other words, your TPO chart is a full 24 hours and the TPO Value Area Lines are only RTH (day session) then your results between these two are going to be different.

ok so no way to exclude the evening session and have the RTH VAL areas show up with the study, ok ill look at overlays, thank you

You can have the Evening Session separate from the Day Session in the TPO profiles. Refer to the following: Time Price Opportunity (TPO) Profile Charts: New Period at Day Session Start When Using Evening Session (1 Day Period Only) But if you want to see the TPO profile as the full 24 hours and just the Value Area Lines as the RTH, then you would have to use the Study/Price Overlay as you mention. yes i have the setup that way on the TPO chart, those levels are fine. on the candlestick chart, using the VBP study i only want the RTH session VAH VAL POC on that chart, not the evening session graphed.. thats the chart thats messed up. the TPO chart is fine.

How are the TPO Value Area Lines "messed up"? What exactly is the problem. If you can give us a "clean" screenshot that just has the Value Area Lines on it showing the particular problem, that would be helpful. now here, using the VBP study , with the SAME sessioion time as the TPO chart, my Value areas and POC are different. is what im trying to fix. why are they different? the session times are the same? what am i doing wrong here? ideally id like to NOT have the evening session on the candlestick chart, just the RTH session, but i need to make sure the value areas are correct here.

Are you comparing the Value Area of the TPO to that of a VbP? These are calculated different from one another (by default), so you can not expect them to be the same. Although, if you have the Inputs for Value Area Highlight Based on Volume and [/b]Point of Control Highlight Based on Volume[/b] set to Yes, then these should be the same for the same time period. Let us know if you have these Inputs set to allow the comparison between the TPO and VbP Value Areas. yes i am comparing the 2, was hoping for them to be the same with same session time set for both charts, as i want the volume profile on there with the VAH VAL POC. its close, just off. I'll continue to mess with it, Thank you John appreciate the quick response
