Are you comparing the Value Area of the TPO to that of a VbP? These are calculated different from one another (by default), so you can not expect them to be the same. Although, if you have the Inputs for Value Area Highlight Based on Volume and [/b]Point of Control Highlight Based on Volume[/b] set to Yes, then these should be the same for the same time period. Let us know if you have these Inputs set to allow the comparison between the TPO and VbP Value Areas.
