When I open my Chartbook even my Backup chart, it does not have any of my Customized Settings. The Control Bar, the Chart Shortcut Menu do not have my customized settings. What is going on with account and my charts?

We really do not know what could have happened, it should not have, unless you updated from a very old version to a recent one, in which case this could occur (depending on how old the previous version was). But, go to your Backups folder and find a backup of your configuration file (Sierra4.config) and replace the current file with the backup and see if you get your settings back. Depending on how long ago this issue first presented, you may need to go back a few days in the backup. Refer to the following for instructions to use a Backup for your configuration file: Resetting Sierra Chart to a Default State / Restoring Backup Global Configuration File: Restoring Backup Global Configuration File For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

I did not update. I traded Friday (9/17), no issues. When I went to log in last night my password and username were blank...I never have to enter these. I entered my information and logged in. All that opened was one gray screen with default Control Bar. I went to the Data/Trade Service Settings and it was all blank. I reentered all that information. Now I have followed the instructions to use a Backup configuration file from last Tuesday (9/14) but it did not restore my custom settings.

Make sure you copied the Sierra4.config file. That is the one you need for the version of software you are running.

I did, I followed the instructions exactly. I even redid it using the Backup configuration file from 9/15. So in the Sierra Chart folder I have file, Sierra4.config 7/15/2021 9:31 AM CONFIG File 343 KB

Were your customizations done at the Chart level or the global level? Also, if you should be using the Global Graphics Settings, then go to the chart(s) for which you are not getting the graphics changes and ensure that the option Chart >> Graphics Settings - Chart >> Use Global Graphics Settings Instead of These Settings has the check next to it. Do you have the settings for your Global Graphics Settings back after moving the Sierra4.config backup file (go to Global Settings >> Graphics Settings and take a look at a few of the settings that you would have changed to see if they are correct or not). Follow the instructions here again: Resetting Sierra Chart to a Default State / Restoring Backup Global Configuration File: Restoring Backup Global Configuration File In your case the backups are located in: C:\SierraChart\SierraChartTransActMA\Backups You need to copy the files, when SierraChart is not running and put the copied files one level up in C:\SierraChart\SierraChartTransActMA\. I had to replace my SSD. I am trying to restore my charts by placing a copy of a Sierra4.config file which I copied in the past into the main Sierra Chart folder. My chart page opened but it is blank. In the past I had to put the file into C:\SierraChart\SierraChartTransActMA but SierraChartTransActMA is nonexistent. How can I retrieve my charts with customized studies from my copied file?

You need to put the "Sierra4.config" file in the main Sierra Chart installation folder. Do not worry about where that was previously, you just need to put it wherever that is now located. So if you have installed Sierra Chart into "C:\SierraChart" then you would put it into that folder. If you installed Sierra Chart into "C:\Users\MyAccount\Other\Something\SierraChart" then it would go into that folder. The point being that it is wherever you put it.

If you want to "restore my charts" that data is contained within Chartbooks. Refer to: Chartbooks (Workspaces): Accessing a Backup Chartbook File Also refer to: Edit Menu: Edit >> Translate Symbols To Current Service Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I am trying to select files to open on Startup. I went to Global Settings>>General Settings Under Startup, I selected Yes for Open Files On Startup The next line reads: (Botton) [Select Files To Open On Startup] I am clicking on this line and nothing is happening. How do I select files to open on Startup? |

You need to select the button that has the words "Select Files to Open on Startup", which will open a new window where you can select the particular files to open on startup. Refer to the following for this particular setting type: Settings Windows Interface: Button (Working with Sierra Chart Windows >> Selection Specific Options) When you do this, the new window will typically be "scrunched" up, so you may only see the "OK" and "Cancel" buttons. You need to expand the window by grabbing a corner and expanding it.
