Isn't there supposed to be a trading halt between 4:15 to 4:30 PM on Emini Index futures? Did I miss something?

Not anymore. It changed today where the CME Group removed the trading halt for the Equity products.

Wow, did not know about that. Does this mean that RTH session is now considered to be from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST?

According to the CME Group, "the halt was initially implemented to account for transactions conducted via open outcry in the trading pits and is therefore no longer necessary." You can find more info about it here: https://www.cmegroup.com/content/dam/cmegroup/notices/market-regulation/2021/06/SER-8788R.pdf |

No. Read this thread on futures.io for more info and context. https://futures.io/traders-hideout/57325-cme-eliminating-15-min-break.html |

Based on the futures.io link, settlement time was change to 4 pm from 4:15 pm sometime last year. So, RTH session should be 9:30 to 4 pm ET? To complicate things further, I own a lifetime license of NT8 and they modified their US Futures Index RTH session template to 9:30 - 5:00 pm ET. They have it before as 9:30-4:15 pm ET. I keep track of yesterdays RTH session high/low among other things, so now I'm not confident what RTH hours to use.

Test them ALL. Find out which settlement time the market respects for your trading plan and PnL.
