If you are having trouble installing Sierra Chart, then we would need to see the Installation Log. The best way to get us the log is to perform the installation, then when you have a problem, go to the directory in which you were trying to install Sierra Chart to (typically C:\SierraChart), then go to the Logs directory (typically C:\SierraChart\Logs) and attach the file that starts with "Installer Log" and has the date and time of the install that you just attempted.

hi John, yes but it won't download. there's no Sierra chart folder. it never gets to that point. it never gets beyond the install screen. there's a log in the install screen but I can't copy it. I did send it from within the install screen with my username and email in it. |

Ok, we found your installation log. The problem is that you are trying to install to C:\SierraChart, which is the default location, but you do not have permissions to write to that directory. You can do one of the following: - Give your username permissions for that directory. - Install as Administrator (although you may then have to continue to run the software as Administrator, depending on how your PC is setup). - Install to a different location that you do have permissions for. You would need to be logged into your computer as the Administrator, or have your account be an administrator. hi, i was able to install it and run it. however, now it says download failed. iknow i have td ameritrade data but that is good until end of this month. i went to the folder and unched "read" only but it still doesnt dl. im runnig sc under admin. |
