Hello,

While we were solving a problem with the symbol settings for CBOT symbols, when using TT FIX and the new Sierra Chart real-time futures data feed, this introduced a problem in 1059 where there was incorrect translation of the CME exchange to the CBOT exchange.

The most obvious problem this would cause is that your current trade position may not display on a chart or Trade DOM. You may briefly see it and then it will go back to zero.

Your current position can always be correctly viewed through Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Positions.

There is also the issue where when trading markets on the CBOT, in most but not all cases, the Exchange on the symbol should be CME instead of CBOT. In the File >> Find Symbol window, you would see the CBOT symbols listed twice. One for CME and one for CBOT. This has caused confusion.

We have now comprehensively solved all of these issues.

Please follow these instructions if you are using TT FIX or AMP/TTNet.

1. If you are running version 1059 or even 1060, please update by selecting Help >> Download Prerelease to get the very latest revision of 1060 which has the proper solution.

2. Go to Global Settings >> Symbol Settings.

3. Press the Full Reset button.

4. Press OK.

5. Wait for the symbol list to fill back up and then press OK.

6. Go through your charts and Trade DOM Windows for markets that are on the CBOT like the YM or ZB. On those charts and Trade DOM windows, select Chart >> Chart Settings. Press the Find button beside the Symbol box and reselect the symbol. This will ensure that the proper exchange suffix is used. This will either be CME or CBOT. For a particular futures market, you will only see one symbol listed. It will either be with CME or CBOT.

7. In some cases, and this is uncommon, you may need to uncheck Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Use CME Gateway for CBOT Symbols. Do not uncheck this option unless you are getting rejections when submitting orders. If you change this option you need to reconnect to the data feed.

problems With SC/TTNet versions 1059 and 1060

I had problems with SC / TTNet in the orders placed.
current trade position may not display on a chart or Trade DOM. You may briefly see it and then it will go back to zero.

SC / TTnet version 1059
in an order positions >> positions the orders were visible

I updated the 1060 issue that gave me 2 open positions with ES while in reality I was flat.
yesterday i negotiated these symbols futures :
ES,YM,6C,NQ

Waiting for a response and solution at this problem

Thanks in advance

There could not be a case where Sierra Chart would indicate a position in the Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Positions tab when you do not have one unless the server was indicating that.

Is there incorrect position displayed on Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Positions? If so, report this to your broker.

We recommend resetting the Trade Position data so any invalid symbols are removed from the list. Here are the instructions for that:

This is a different kind of issue. This is the Trade Stats for Charts tab. Refer to the documentation here to clear that data:

After updating to v1061 and doing a Full Reset of Symbol Settings, the YM-201312-CBOT chart reports Symbol is Unknown..., and does not update realtime.

If I uncheck 'Use CME Gateway for CBOT Symbols' the YM-201312-CBOT will update realtime, but it still reports Symbol is Unknown...

Please advise.

After following the steps above for AMP/TTNet, specifically the YM - CBOT, the intraday chart is showing one huge bar (400 Tick) for today's data so far. When swithching that intraday chart back to the CME Gateway symbol (thought there should only be one symbol for the YM after following the steps above), the chart shows correctly(or more correct anyways). I have run through the entire process twice now with the same outcome, so I am asking for a little help. What have I done or what have I missed?

Post #7:
Completely clear the Trade Activity data for the symbol that your position is flat for following the instructions here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_TradeActivityLog.php#ClearingtheLog

This is all you need to do. This is what the documentation indicates to do in this particular case. The Trade Stats for Charts tab should not be relied upon to show your accurate position. It can be wrong because it has a dependency upon order fills and those could sometimes be missed for different kinds of conditions.

Post #8:

You need to uncheck 'Use CME Gateway for CBOT Symbols' and reconnect to the data feed. You may still see the Symbol is Unknown message continue to appear for up to 30 seconds even after unchecking that option and reconnecting. Disregard that.

Post #9:

Do not use the CBOT symbols. Only the CME symbols. We had not released the updated settings for AMP/TTNet. We have now.

If there is a problem with the data in the chart re-download it by selecting Edit >> Delete All Data and Download.
