Colour bar study

I use the colour bar study to paint a bar on my charts when there is the crossover of two RSI's. It has been implemented by using a overlay study from another chart. Most times it works and there is no problem but other times I see the crossover on the chart but no colour bar painted on the other chart. If I then right click and select studies on my destination chart it seems to update and the bar is painted. Is there an explanation as to why it would do this? Is there a setting I need to change?

Thanks.

Most likely this is due to a study calculation order issue. Refer to:
Chart Studies: Study Calculation Precedence And Related Issues

If you look in the Studies to Graph list of the Chart Studies window you can see the order of calculation. The Color Bar study will need to be calculated after the Overlay study.

I have an ATR on a CumDelta-Volume study.

I put a color bar base on alert condition on it that looks like this

=(ID1.SG1[0])>=((ID1.SG1[1])*1.6)

But , It always paint the main bar at the start and sometimes keep the paint on when It does not need to after the bar close.

I am using a Tick chart.

Am I doing something wrong , I look at the Calculation order but this does not seem to fix anything.

thanks

We are not fully understanding the particular issue you are trying to explain.

The one thing we want to point in relation to your question, is that when a bar closes and the "Color Bar" was true at that time, then the bar is going to remain "painted" and will not change. It could be set to change, depending on the "Number of Bars to Calculate" and if there is a full recalculation of the chart.

I am trying to paint the bar only when the current bar is *1.6 times greater than the last bar.

what happen is that , On new bar , it always paint the bar even if it go 0 Range.

And sometimes the painting is still on even if that requirement is not True.

did I did my alert wrongly ?

With my settings , the bar is not suppose to unpaint after it is paint as , the bar will always keep the same RANGE.

That calculation come from an ATR , base 1 , simple MA on a Cummulative Delta - volume. And I use a Tick chart.

So ID1 is the Average True Range study?

It looks like your main issue is the use of a '1' instead of a '-1'. If you are trying to compare the current bar against the previous bar, then your Alert Condition should be the following:
=(ID1.SG1[0])>=((ID1.SG1[-1])*1.6)

Then if you want the bar to paint when true and then to not paint any following bars, you need to enable the alert option for Reset Alert Condition on New Bar. The condition you have should reset without this option, but best to enable this as well just to ensure that you do not miss any odd situations.
