Hi,

The DOM Label column value is not completely centered when using the CUSTOM_VALUE_AT_Y Drawstyle.

See attached pictures. To test this I used the "Study SubGraph Above/Below Bar as Text with a 0 offset in the settings. The horizontal align of the subgraph is in the DOM Label column and the vertical align is center.

The pictures clearly see an offset from the expected price level. This offset seems constant and does not varies depending on the vertical scale used.

Can this be fixed?

Thanks,

Frederik

The reason the label is being placed where it is, is because you are using the Study Subgraph Above/Below Bar as Text. Therefore, it is placing the label in the same location as the subgraph is being displayed. For instance, the Subgraph is being displayed Above the bar with zero offset, so it is being displayed at the High of the bar. Therefore, the label gets displayed at the high of the bar.

In order to do what you want, just use the Drawstyle Subgraph Name and Value Labels Only on the study that is producing those values and turn on the Label option. Refer to the the following:
Chart Studies: Subgraph Name and Value Labels Only (ACSIL: DRAWSTYLE_SUBGRAPH_NAME_AND_VALUE_LABELS_ONLY)

Hi John,

The reason I use CUSTOM_VALUE_AT_Y is that I can use the price value to display the SG data value it is holding. The Study Subgraph Above/Below Bar as Text is set to using the CUSTOM_VALUE_AT_Y Drawstyle because of that reason. Your recommended drawstyle will place the label at its SG actual value and not at the price value. So what you propose is not going to solve this issue.

The observation I make is not huge, but just enough to try to get you guys to fix it. The label I show in the pictures is just a tiny bit above the pricelevel I expect to see. The High of the bar is at 2843.25 and the label is just hover above that in the label column. The pink price on the picture is my cross-hair placed at the high of the bar. Do not look at the actual value of the label, that's not important.

Do I need to attach a chartbook?

(edit) the reason I ask is because I am developing a study that is using the mentioned drawstyle on the DOM label column. I use one of your studies to point out my observation. If you for example use The SG reference study and plot say the high price of the current bar in the labelcolumn using a regular drawstyle like Line you will see that that is perfectly aligned compared to the CUSTOM_VALUE_AT_Y and the TRANSPARENT_CUSTOM_VALUE_AT_Y drawstyles. I would like to get that difference fixed.

Give us some time to look into it and see if we can reproduce it.

Thanks John,

Appreciate it.
While this looked into, it would also be great if the Drawstyle "Name and Value Labels Only" could have a Y_VALUE option in ACSIL.

This has been changed for the Drawstyle Custom Value At Y so it will not be offset. This is available in the current Pre-Release (v 1891). You can download the Pre-Release using the Fast Update option using these instructions:

We did not add an option for the Y_VALUE to the Name and Value Labels Only option, as that is in a completely different area of the code. We will take it as a To-Do item, but it is a lower priority item and we cannot give any timelines.
