Dear Sierra Chart support team, I am fighting with this problem for several days. My intraday continuous futures contract date rule rollover back-adjusted chart is not updating. It stops on a particular date and only the real-time price is updating on the right sided vertical scale but the chart is not updating. I have read through your page and tried several things to correct this problem before I wrote this ticket. I have deleted the data files via the Chart >> Reload and Recalculate, Edit >> Delete All Data And Download as well as manually deleting the data files (.scid) in the Data folder within the Sierra Chart main folder. Nothing helped. The daily historical charts seem OK. The problem occurs on these contracts: ZL-201710-ECBOT, ZS-201709-ECBOT, ZM-201710-ECBOT, GC-201710-NYMEX and SI-201710-NYMEX-USD-5000. When I switch from continues futures contract into standard contract the error disappears (the charts will start updating). Many thanks in advance for your help. This is unusual. In general, the solution should be found in help topic 3: Intraday Chart or Chart Bars Not Updating | Blank Intraday Chart | "Currently no data to display" message for Intraday Chart It should not matter whether the chart is a Continuous Futures Contract chart or not. Hi, thank you for your help. It seems I have found a solution. The problem was I was using a contract which is not listed in the list of available contracts in the "Find symbol" window however the contract is normally traded on the exchange. So i just clicked on the nearest available contract in "Find symbol" window and renamed it to correspond to my desired contract. For instance I clicked on the nearest GC contract which is "GC-201712-NYMEX" but rewrote it into "GC-201710-NYMEX". Do you have a clue why "GC-201710-NYMEX" is not in a list of available contracts while it is normally traded on the exchange and it has solid OI? Thank you in advance. |

The October gold contract is not actively traded. Still, the chart should update in real time and that is what we are seeing even when it is set to a Continuous Futures Contract chart. What are the Session Times of the chart set to? Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Session times are on the below attached screenshot. The normal contract is updating but the continuous date rule rollover backadjusted contract is not updating.

We tried again to reproduce the problem when using the Continuous Futures Contract feature and we now can. You simply cannot use the Continuous Contract option for a futures contract which is not one that is actively traded. Set the Continuous Contract option to None.
