Finally: New FXCM Connection Method to Be Available This Week

Finally FXCM has completed the work on their side for us to offer our new connection model to FXCM which has no minimum account balance requirements and uses a central FIX connection.

Advantages:
-No minimum account balance with FXCM required
-Long-term order fill history maintained
-Server-side OCO and Bracket orders
-Very simplified connection to FXCM

This connection will be available towards the end of this coming week.

For users who want to use this, you will need to sign a letter of direction. Understand that we have no control over your FXCM account, we are providing only order routing and there are no markups or other fees associated with this.

Will the data and execution through this be according to your account type (dealing desk vs. no dealing desk)? The spreads differ between these two account types, as you already know.

In the first quarter of 2017, we are going to have in place ultralow latency order routing to FXCM. Just like we do with LMAX and CTS. So we expect this would be under a millisecond.

Although this still has to be implemented and verified.

Hi SC,

I tried to submit my Letter of Direction to FXCM, and they replied to me with the following email:


"Please note that we received your Letter of Direction Request Form for "Sierra Pacific Software Limited". At this time the request cannot be processed as your account is currently on Dealing Desk execution. Please note that the requested service provider does not offer services for Dealing Desk accounts. If you need your account to be set with your preferred service provider, please submit the below Standard Transfer Form request in order the execution model and the leverage of your account to be switched to Standard:"

This seems to contradict what you have stated regarding "no account minimum". It seems that they are claiming you need to open a standard account, which has a minimum balance of $5000. Please advise.

After a lengthy discussion with FXCM, I have found out that you still need a Standard Account for use with Sierra Chart. So, there is a minimum balance of $5000 in order to open that account. Mini accounts are not eligible for use with Sierra Chart.

We are asking FXCM about this. We were not aware there was an account minimum. Other than possibly something like 500 or 1000. Which is far less than the previous minimum of 10,000 to 15,000.

Two things that we became aware of after users have requested their FXCM accounts be assigned to the order routing connections we have, are as follows:

- Dealing Desk accounts are not supported. We have contacted FXCM about this and they will be supported in about a week.

- When using FXCM Trading Station, you can only access your account in read-only mode after it has been assigned to the Sierra Chart common order routing connection for FXCM. We have contacted FXCM about this to see if they can overcome this.

This post was from nov. 4, so that is 2 month's ago, You seem to have the data feed for mini/DD accounts as I can see, but what about the right letter of direction for mini/DD accounts.

Unfortunately FXCM has a technical issue with the dealing desk accounts that they need to resolve. This is still not yet done. We are not sure when this will be done. Hopefully this month.

Does anyone know if the FXCM MetaTrader 4 platform can be accessed to monitor the orders and trades managed initially by SC ? My end goal would be to run the MyFxBlue trade copier EA between the FXCM MT4 (piloted by SC) to another MT4

When a LOD is sent to be applied on a MT4 account, it is automatically converted info a TradingStation account. Therefore no monitoring on MT4 is possible.
