Russell 5min delayed! Can not trade

Hello Support,

today the Russell data come in delayed by abt 5minutes.. i am on the latest prerelease (1446), though 1445 did not work either. see screenshot attached with the global crosshair. the latest candle in the russell obviously represents 5 candles (1min chart) earlier from the other 3 charts.

please advise.

We apologize for this issue. Are you noticing a problem currently?

If you still notice a problem reconnect to the data feed using the Disconnect and Connect commands on the File menu.

We do see a problem that occurred on one of the servers with Open Feed resulting in this condition. We are looking into the cause. It only occurred on one of the servers.

If there is any missing data in the chart, right-click in the chart before the missing data and select Delete and Download Data.

hello Support,

thank you for taking a look at this. after a reconnect i do not experience it anymore.
however, this happened a couple of times before, so please try to locate the original cause of the issue. As it is difficult to spot while trading and it can really spoil your P&L..

While this new Barchart Open Feed is a much improvement compared to the prior data feed, it is still a new data feed which could potentially encounter problems on either side until unexpected issues are worked out.

We do not know the details of why this happened yet, but there is one design aspect of it which is concerning which can lead to this kind of problem and we need to find a way to better manage it.

We have more of an understanding about the issue but not completely. We have enough information to resolve this. After the close today we are going to make a change which will prevent this problem from occurring again.

Although the underlying issue has to be understood better and we need to implement a proper solution to it.

You just need to reconnect to the data feed using the commands on the File menu to go to the other server.

Also, this is very puzzling why this is still happening.

We do see evidence of the problem but we have to figure out why it is happening.

Also this kind of chart image is not helpful to us. It is too complicated. It is sufficient just to give us one of the symbols and tell us how much of a delay there is. Instead of us looking at that image and trying to figure out what you are trying to show.

Therefore, due to how the addresses are assigned, you were not getting to the other server. We need to think about how to solve that.

And we do apologize for this. This whole thing is extremely concerning. With the most recent change this simply should not have happened.

Letting you know we have been devoting nearly full-time to this issue the last day.

We think we finally have realized what the source of the problem is.

It is a rather complex issue involving CPU cache consistency and how that is affecting the processing of temporarily buffered data. We will be implementing a solution today. Although the recent changes we deployed yesterday after the close, may have substantially solved it.

Even though maybe just one or two users were affected by this, it is very important to us because our core data feed processing architecture has to function properly. And this Open Feed is going to be expanded to other exchanges as well in the coming months.

You may have noticed a problem today. Although the delay may have only been for a short period of time and may have only been about a second or two. We apologize for that. We have been still actively working on the problem.

We finally discovered one of the primary issues and solved that. We are deploying the software update now. We are going to make further optimizations but we do not expect any problem going forward.

So we are happy to see this issue finally resolved.

just to let you know, i have NOT experienced it today - though it might be possible that i just missed it..

however, great job in isolating the issue and deploying the update, am looking forward to an issue free ICE stream :)

The delay would not have been severe today. It would have only been about two or three seconds at worst and would only been intermittent.
