This is not the first time this has happened since switching to DTC protocol. Today LMAX was down for about 30 mins starting roughly 10:00 UTC. I was lucky since I just had closed my position. Could you check into this and tell me what happened? By the way my internet connection was working just fine during the shut down. Cheers, Fred Date Time Of Last Edit: 2016-05-27 10:49:58

We are aware of this. There was a network problem in the data center where the servers are located. They did acknowledge the problem and it was corrected. About two months ago we did see a problem with loss of connectivity for about 10 to 20 minutes but it was not due to a network connectivity problem. It was a problem on the server itself and after that incident we moved to a different server and have not had a problem since. We are aware that we do need to set up a second server in another data center and that will be done. And also in the case of an event like this, you still have the ability to access your orders through the LMAX GUI. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. We just talked to the server provider just now. They take the problem very seriously. They are investing in additional network switching hardware and additional server hardware. Costing many tens of thousands of dollars and they will set up another crossconnect to LMAX. We are also going to set up a second server as well. The only point of difficulty is the management of OCO orders. Inherently that is hard to make redundant if the server the orders were placed on has a problem or loses connectivity. But you can always switch to client side managed orders from within Sierra Chart. Although we think that you are still better off using server-side managed orders. No system is ever completely 100 percent reliable. Even exchanges have problems from time to time including LMAX. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Thanks for your quick reply. As long as you are on top of the problem I am not worried. I am using SC now for over a year and overall very happy. Cheers, Fred |
