Best Way to Find Out Why Jurik Tools are Crashing Sierra Chart?

I've installed the Jurik Research tools for Sierra Chart via their instructions.

Ever since that install, Sierra Chart has been randomly crashing. Causes of these crashes have been:

-Changing Jurik indicator settings
-Moving a Jurik indicator from one pane to another on the same chart
-Adding a Jurik indicator to a chart
-Exiting out of Sierra Chart by click the X in the upper right of the main window

Before installing this, I've pretty much had zero stability issues with SC.

They are unable to recreate the problems on their end so it seems to them, there is no problem.

Question: Is there some kind of crash log or series of steps I can use to determine what exactly is triggering the crashes?

Most crashes are associated with the Windows ntdll.dll

Not sure if it's helpful but this is the problem signature from one of the crashes:

Problem signature:
P1: SierraChart.exe
P2: 700.0.0.0
P3: 567c91f4
P4: StackHash_18ac
P5: 10.0.10586.20
P6: 5654262a
P7: c0000374
P8: PCH_07_FROM_ntdll+0x000770AC
P9:

Based upon what you are saying clearly there is a problem, so even if they cannot re-create it, it does not mean there is not an issue. This kind of problem is not unusual in a program.

You have already provided sufficient information for them to recognize something is wrong. Another thing you can do to rule out those studies as a cause is to follow the instructions here:

Just want to follow up and ask if anyone else is using Jurik tools and if they're having any issue with crashes.

These crashes are random and only occur when I'm interacting with Jurik studies. Things like:

-Changing Settings
-Changing Colors
-Removing a Jurik study from a chart
-Moving a Jurik study from one pane to another

Crashes usually occur when clicking "Apply" or "ok" in the settings dialogue and also upon exiting.

The only SC log entry I've seen is the following:

"Warning: The Custom DLL study "JRS_SC.scsf_JMAUT" has just caused a CPU exception.
Warning: This Custom DLL study may cause Sierra Chart to be unstable until you remove the study from your chart and restart Sierra Chart."

I've gotten a recompiled DLL from them but just wanted to know if anyone else has had stability problems with Jurik tools.

Does the recompiled DLL help?

If this is still happening, something is still wrong:

"Warning: The Custom DLL study "JRS_SC.scsf_JMAUT" has just caused a CPU exception.

Unfortunately no.

Having another problem as well now.

Have 2 JMA's plotted on a naked range chart. One two period and one 5 period.

The 5 period does not plot correctly in real time. It actually plots as a 1 period.

However, if I bring up the studies dialogue box and then click "okay", the 5 period snaps to what it should be.

I know you guys don't like videos but this is a video of what I'm talking about: http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=35b89qc%3E&s=9

Any ideas on what that could be?

You need to contact the developer of the studies about this.

Hello,

This problem was resolved when the user removed other custom DLLs he had downloaded. Apparently one of the other Dynamic Link Libraries was corrupting our program's memory space, because their removal resulted in no further crashing of our software.
