Hi,

I trade with Transact and we go through Sierra Charts for charting. I cannot for whatever reason get Sierra Charts to connect. It was working this morning, and everything on Transact's end still works (so I know it's not an internet issue) but Sierra Charts is not working at all. I keep going to File-Connect to Data Feed, and then disconnect to try it again and nothing is working. I've uninstalled Transact & the charting package and reinstalled it and that didn't work. It's making me pretty frustrated. Earlier it said something like "could not connect to server because of Microsoft Error and computer rejected it" or something. I would post the exact copy from the trade service log but literally that isn't even loading now and is cleared so I can't.

Any Help would be appreciated,

Thanks.

This is the relevant error message:
Socket (35) | Error received in OnConnect while connecting. Windows error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. | 2015-08-24 16:28:18

There can be two possibilities. It can be a firewall on your computer, other than the Windows firewall, which is blocking the connection. For more information about that refer to:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/TransAct.php#BridgeConnectionError

Or it could be that this TransAct program is being blocked by security software on your computer:

TransAct Trading | Starting server: C:\SierraChart\SierraChartTransActMA\Transact\TransactToSierraBridge.exe

We recommend disabling any security software on your computer temporarily to see if it is causing the problem. Most likely it is.

Hmm. I don't have any security programs on my computer and it literally was working fine until after this morning and nothing was changed. I am using a Mac on parallels if that would make any difference. I don't know what to do though. Everything is working on TransactAT though (as prices are clearly changing real time) but I can't get Sierra Charts to work.

But yeah, I checked add or remove programs and no security software and I don't have any extra firewalls either. And I just checked my firewall on my mac and it was off too and I don't have security programs on that end either.

Have you contacted TransAct support about this?

This is their contact information:
http://www.transactfutures.com/ContactUs.htm

We are suspecting that the TransAct bridge program might be abnormally shutting down and that is why Sierra Chart cannot connect to it. They are the most qualified to assist with this problem. If they cannot assist with it, we will contact you and check the TransAct log files to see if we see evidence of it abnormally shutting down.

Please set your telephone number here so we can contact you and look into the problem:

Let us know when that is done.
