That is exactly what you needed to do. When you use File >> New Instance the sub-instance that is created gets data from and sends orders to the main instance. That is why the service is locked in on "DTC - Sub Instance". When you install a separate Sierra Chart, then that instance is its own standalone instance and can be connected to any service. As long as that second installation is on the same computer, then you will also be able to get your data into that second installation without any issue or additional cost.
