From what we know they are in the data center now working on it. We would have expected it would be resolved by now. Seems like they just need to pull the faulty device out. Unfortunately, we are at the at the mercy of the Barchart network and data center rack we are located in.
Would it be possible/economically feasible for you to go to the exchanges and obtain their data directly, rather than having to be at mercy of the Barchart network? |

No. There is no possibility of this. It is far too cost prohibitive. Also, the problem is not with the exchange connectivity. Actually the servers are getting the data feeds just fine on the backend. Even if we did all of our own connectivity, we can still have our own network hardware problems. We are going to be discussing with Barchart management, to set up an additional server in a completely different data center and network. We have already contacted them about this. As a side question while we are waiting at the mercy of Barcharts to get us back up and running. Many forum subscription services allow for the actual new message that is posted to also be included in the email notification. Would it be possible if this is an option for your software to have that turned on? It would make it so convenient to just read the update instead of clicking on the link then scrolling down to the most up to date post etc.... Thanks for your time and consideration in this. Doug |

The reason we do not include the content of a Support Board posting is because if the post is changed, then you will not see the updated content. Sometimes after we make a post, we need to edit the posting to correct technical errors or dictation errors. If the content was in an email, then there would not be any correction to that text already sent out. Also if we added additional text to a posting, sometimes just seconds later because we have something more to say, then once again the email already sent out will not have this additional text. It is common that we do edit posts. We understand there is a trade-off here, but we do feel it is much better to just link to the board. Good news. The data feed is now back up. Let us know if you have any problems. To use the Sierra Chart data feed instead of your trading service data feed, enable Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds . Reconnect to the data feed with the File >> Disconnect and File >> Connect To Data Feed commands, after changing the setting. Even though we have not responded right away, we are aware of the ongoing intermittent data feed. It has been up and down. We know this is ridiculous and unacceptable. Barchart said this: should be back and I am contacting vendor to find out why this occurred after they assured it would not
